Well the parts have been rolling in lately. I finally got enough in to get this thing laced up to the axles (a roller that doesn't roll-no hubs). Just lacking a few things to make it a runner. Really counting on winning the Brood motors in the giveaway for this build!

The parts list (already acquired):
  • Lightweight bullies
  • BJ4 pro chassis
  • Big bores all around (mini t springs with cap mod from Wicked Wolf and jeepindoug cups)
  • Chaotic Crawlers ti upper links/Billetworks BWD XR10 lower links
  • DH and SLW wheels
  • Ripper777 steering
  • Hitec 7954SH
  • Punk dig
  • CC BEC
  • 3x6mm flanged bearings
Parts still needed:
  • Tekin FXR
  • Matched Team brOOd 35t handwounds
  • VP hubs
  • Sedonas all around

I got the shocks put together with the shock cap mod from Wicked Wolf RC, mini t springs, and jeepindoug cups and some 37.5 wt oil. Came out a little longer than I was expecting with those cap mods. Sitting at 4.5". I can either cut off about .25" from Revo rod ends and/or limit them internally. I'm leaning toward both, limit about .25" and take .25" off the rod ends. That'll put me at 4" eye to eye.

Looks like a nice start to the build man."thumbsup"

BTW did you pick those axles up on here?

@ Jeremy: Ya, I'd like to get into some comps with this rig-always been just a basher with crawlers but I've been wanting to do a bully bj build for about 6 months now.

@ Hittman: Yup, picked up the axles in the classifieds: came with v6 shafts, shaved front tube for servo placement and according servo mount. Also came with cast front and rear tubes, knuckles, and gear cases. But I really want to shoot for a light rig here. I also picked up the chassis, wheels, and dig on here.

Haha yeah, I am almost certain those are the axles my buddy was sellin for me"thumbsup"

Haha, ya I think so. He said it was for a friend. Think they were out of Albuquerque too.

Awesome! We post our comps and GTGs in the Texas section. We usually have one per month and it's usually held on the last weekend of the month.

I got the shocks put together and were too long (4.5"). So I limited them internally and cut a bit off the rod end on shock body side. Now they sit at 4 1/16" (eye to eye). That's more like what I was shooting for.

BUILD UPDATE:

Parts have slowly been coming in; finally have it all except for the motors. I'll be ordering a pair of HH torquemaster pro handwound 35t within the week to complete it.

I got in the esc (FXR), donas, and hubs. I have the roller put together. Rocklube for the gears and a robotronic clamping horn is on the way.

Next I'll need to do some steering mods, probably some axle clocking, and maybe a little clearance grinding. And eventually come up with some side panels.
Onto pics:

Ya, it is a mostly black truck right now. The springs are the other color to stand out. The color plan may change when I add some body panels-not sure what I'll do yet.
