Been seriuos trail crawling(organized runs with a group)since 2000. I have 2 rigs built now. The Ranger in my sig, and a 94 Explorer that has 7" of lift, locked F/R, 4:88's and 35's. I picked up a 87 Samurai(tintop) last Oct. and gonna start building on it. Living here in CO there are quite a few places to go ranging from rocks to scenic(I tend to sway to the tougher trails with rocks. Pics... Last edited by BLOODBANE; 01-24-2011 at 09:41 PM. |

Built this one (in a rock driveway no less) with more chassis mods, electronics and stroked V-8 power and drive train you could ever need. A ton more has been done since this point but since my accident I haven't been able to finish the drive shafts and pass. seat. 383 only has like 250 miles on it and I jhaven't been able to drive it since. I'll end up selling it as soon as I can afford to have someone finish it and get me a 2dr. tahoe or something else that I can just drive AND get into with out help. Never. I had an 86 GMC Jimmy when I was young and beat it up a little bit off road and then went to cars. I had an 06 Frontier 4x4 4.0l V6 6-spd I bought brand new in 06 and got interested but never did anything with it. Ended up trading that in for my '10 Murano SL (Which is anything but off road capable) lol. I dig the RC stuff and working on learning as much as possible. |

Bringing the sexy 7 year old thread back...and I chose option 3. I have ridden Sierra Trek, Hammers, and Rubicon trails in my friends' rigs.

ITS BEEN A FEW YEARS FOR ME, BACK BEFORE IT WAS CALLED ROCK CRAWLING , IT WAS JUST CALLED HAVING FUN , WHEN FULL SIZE RAMCHARGERS WITH 440'S AND FULL TIME 203'S AND 205'S WERE THE NORM, NO SAFETY HARNESS'S , SINGLE LOOP ROLL BARS ETC. DONT KNOW HOW WE SURVIVED , BUT IT WAS FUN. TURBO CHARGED 440 POWER WAGON, '45 M-38 , CREW CAB 440 POWERED POWER WAGON, DANA 60'S, ETC. I WAS'NT ONLY ROCK STEADY, I ENJOYED RIVERBOTTOMS, SAND, MUD , AND I HAVE TO TELL YOU THERES NOTHING LIKE LAUNCHING A 800+ HP BIG BLOCK UP A ROCKY RIVER BOTTOM AT 40+ MILES PER HOUR, THOUGH I WISH I WERE A YOUNG MAN AGAIN TO TRY THE NEW TECH, GUESS THATS WHY WE HAVE RC. MY FONDEST MEMORY IS ROLLING MY RAMCHARGER AND ENDING UP IN THE BED OF THE RIG CAUSE MY LAP BELT RIPPED OUT OF THE FLOORBOARD , OH THE MEMORYS |
