Here is todays progress. It was weird working on my buggy when I was supposed to be working but they have cut our hours to 32 a week and Friday and Monday is my turn to skip.

We did manage to get the motor, tranny, 1st t-case in. I got half of the rear t-case mount in. My dumb but forgot about the front driveshaft so I have to notch out my transmission mount to clear it. I was kinda bummed, and Joe just sat there laughing at me.......

That's Joe.

You know, if you'd just let Joe build it you could've been driving it two months ago.

Ok, some advice on the air shock placement. Does this look semi close to where they need to be to work good?

IMO, the side view angle is perfect, the rear view angle is near perfect. I'd put them as far out on the axle as possible with out interference with tires, steering, etc. Can you mock up more stuff before welding?

I set em up 10 and 5. 10 degrees torwards center(front/rear) and 5 degrees inboard. Granted I deal with coilovers(not an airshock fan) but the same setup can apply.

Thats pretty good right there. I am loving this build. I should be starting on similar to this in about a year. I will be going with a 1.6 kick motor and a 3speed auto 4x4 trans - the tcase, with a sami case behind it. I Love the way the chassis is lookning. Keep up the good work brotha!

It is 1.75 x .090 wall HSREW tubbing, no poo pipe on this truck. Pipe doesn't have a seam in it.

I cut a lot of brackets today after work. Here's what the 4 link is looking like. Any opinions on this setup?

Some brackets, the axle lower link mounts, the sub frame for the lower links, and to make air shock tunning easier I made an adjustable sub frame for the upper air shock mounts.

Looking good, i sasw you were asking about the air shock placement if you have them closer to the knuckles you will be more stable and function alot better

I am at 118" on the yota, it seems to work alright. Going to do the same with this one. The skid will sit as low as the lowest point on the toyota, with about 1000 lbs less weight and a linked suspension. It should work really well....I hope.....
