i agree, for some reason the black steelies arent just "perfect" but i cant think of what would be.

This is the best I could do for the time being. Just weighed it down to get it ~1/4" lower. The front is bottomed out (linkage hits the motor), but the rear has a bit more bump travel available. I definitely like the ride height better this way, but I want some bump travel so I would need to either raise it up or figure a way to get more clearance underneath for the front axle's uptravel.

if i recall you had 10lbs of shit in a 5lb bag under the hood. so would probly mean some work, but boy that sure looks awesome.

LOL! Yeah, that's a good analogy of what's going on under the hood.

I can move the upper/3 link mount to the side to gain more clearance. Then I may have some track bar clearance issues. It'd be tight, but I think I could gain about a quarter inch of bump travel. I'll have to un-braze the upper mount and relocate it, then a shorter upper link will be needed. All very do-able....when I get time. Too slammed with other stuff at the moment!

At some point I need to work on the real Jeep that's been on jackstands in my garage for over a month now.

Well, the shocks aren't the problem right now. In fact, I've got 1/4" spacers in there now that I can easily remove. It's the 3 link mount on the truss that's hitting the motor. I'll try to get some pics later on to show what I mean...

Help is always good. I was hoping to work on it this week, but now I'll be traveling to Houston so it might not be 'til next week now. But thanks for the offer and I'll definitely keep you in mind!

By the way, we need to go do some 1:1 wheelin' soon. Cory's never been. We need to pop his cherry!

I can picture what you talking about with 3 link mount. Is the upper link mount hitting the motor ?

I do know how to turn wrench's and help out. Not just watch and drink your beer.

I thought Cory has been wheeling ? Maybe talk Patrick into going. I love to go!

No, not really. I've been sidetracked with racing and also working on my 1:1 Jeep. Finally got it back on the road after re-configuring the entire front end on it.

I haven't been doing any crawling lately, but I've been missing it. However, I wasn't too thrilled with my battery situation last time. The 1300 batteries lasted a decent amount of time, but I didn't have very many of them left. Some were puffing and I was down to only 3 batteries. Not enough for a day of crawling so I decided to pick up some more. And I also decided to up the capacity of the batteries to get me some longer run times. After lots of measuring and research I decided to get some Turnigy 2200's. They're only 20c compared to the 40c 1300s I had been running, but this is a Class 1 rig. Big whoop if it doesn't have crazy punch!

Here's where the 1300 mounted with Velcro. It fits right in front of the firewall of the Jeep when I close the body. Also, I know my inner fenders are folding pretty badly. I've got plans to fix that.

It overhangs the sides of the chassis now, but not too badly.


Since the body opens/closes like a funny car, I'll need to trim the bottoms of the rock sliders. Right now if I close the body, the sliders will hit the battery due to its longer length. Nothing a Dremel can't fix.

1300 mAh with 40C = 52 Amp discharge
2200 mAh with 20C = 44 Amp discharge

You'll be fine. 25C would have kept you at pretty much the same current capability, but you wont notice the 8 amp difference (with this type of rig).

Good point... And yeah, I doubt I'll ever experience the difference.

I have a couple 2200 2s ones I run, they're 30c. I like them, nice and light, with good power for a 2s, so your 3s will be fine.

Oh, yeah, it'll have plenty of power. But nowadays I'm more about "scale realistic" levels of power, not over the top levels of wheelspeed. In fact, I wish I could gear it down lower, but my Dinky DDK setup won't let me gear it any lower than I am right now. But that's okay. I like the performance it has now.

I just need to work on fitting the new batteries and then see about lowering the ride height a bit more.

Got the new batteries installed and trimmed the rock sliders to make them fit. Came out very nice. I also flipped the inner fender wells side to side. Since they were folding over, swapping them around flattened them out nicely.

I tried to get swap my RC4WD Mud Thrashers onto my Voids, but I started stripping several of the small screws so I stopped. Looks like I may not be able to get my Pit Bulls off the Voids now. That really sucks!

I feel your pain.. I just installed some pits on my brand new voids I got this week, one screw free spun straight off the bat, another one let loose while tightening and could feel a couple others start to go... Not happy for brand new wheels...
