Frogger.......the new class 1 build

Well i sold my old class 1 white knight bronco to a friend ........so i had to start a new one . i couldn't think of a name right away so thanks to my friend jeepiac it now has a name ......

FROGGER.......


frogger started out with some parts that i won on the 12 days of christmas

carbon fiber home brew chassis from 149 r/c worx
flat skid from vader products
xr moded scx-10 axles
HR metal geared trans
ae-2 esc
CC bec
Power HD servo
servo winch
DMG one off front bumper/stinger
Pro-line comanche body
Dinky R/C interior


well i guess i ought to show you why it ended up with the name frogger ...

so i ended up picking up a set of gearhead 1.55 beadlock wheels from my friend luckster so i had to give them a propper home ........a nice new set of Pit Bull Growlers .......



and i needed to mount them to a good set of axles .......time to build another set of xr moded scx-10 axles

now for the chassis ......gotta say 149 r/c worx makes some nice chassis rails , pair that with a vader products smooth skid and we have the start of a nice setup

well today was pretty productive ....i got the trans built, the rear axle built , and all the links made .....so then i put it all together

so i had to set the body on it to see how she is gonna look...........

Thanks big bacon , yeah it's cutting it close . I'm really trying to get it done early so I can test and tune a bit before Disney . Going to go over to the DMG dungeon to do some things today and then get the truck buttoned up

well I need to post some updates I guess ...... I will have to post pics tonight after work ......

the truck is basically done , got the interior and the body mounts done , all the electronics in made a steering servo and servo wich mounting plate made over at the DMG dungeon along with some chassis spacers/stiffeners . still need to add some scale details and the lighting to it but for the most part it is ready

okay so here are some updates and progress pics ....

went over to the DMG dungeon to make a few pieces like the servo mount plate and bumper mounts/bumper

then i got the body figured out on placement and mounts , got the sliders put on along with the rear bumper and the interior made as well

well i didn't get a chance to run frogger around any before i headed out to the RC4WD scale challenge in Disney , Oklahoma .......after i got down there i finished up the scale details and bound the reciever to the radio and drove around in camp over anything i could find ( frogger worked great ).

I have to say for a rig that i had zero time on frogger performed very well , i used it for both class 1 and class 2 .......

in class 1 i ended up finishing in 6th place out of 12 and against some great drivers ( i'll take it ) , not quite as good in class 2 but some of that was due to driver error ......

i will be making a few tweaks to frogger to make it better ( probably new shocks and maybe a few other treatments ) maybe some foam tuning as well ...oh and a new motor is in the immediate future
