Isn't it dovetailed?

Either way I agree with the tube work part

Thanks for the comps guys!

It's DT'd, just not too radical. I was going to do a bit more than what I did, but it looked odd. I took each side in about 3/8".

More updates coming soon

I guess this can qualify for an update. I had Etype R toss my shocks on the lathe (too impatient/lazy to use file and drill press). I think I goofed up and gave him the shock I was saving to toss on BigBaller's comp rig by mistake!....

TJB, your shocks are ready

LMAO!!!

I should have'em back this Sunday at our Comp (pending mass snow storm up there now), and get the chassis finished. The springs should be here Monday. been doing the minor touch up body work to get it ready for paint and getting everything ready to go to the powder coater on the 27th.

Will have some pics up after the weekend.....

Alright, time for an update. After changing my mind on the chassis, and getting my exploding shocks back , here's where it's at....

I grabbed the highlift chassis and the angle grinder and did some trimming

I think it looks a lot more scale looking, and most of the threaded holes lined up for what I planned to do...

The top holes line up enough to be able to use them to bolt the floor panels, and also the roll cage plates straight to the chassis without any mods

Here are the famous exploding shocks. Mike (Etype R) did a awesome job turning them down, Thanks Mike! The springs are Medium Vendetta fronts and rears. I will be spraying them blue or red later on. Sorry for the blurry pic

Quick shot of the front shock hoops, front body mount and the start of the rear truss

Here's where it is at right now, I should have it almost complete by tonight.. The WB will end up at 9 3/4"

wow, looks great. That R2 really frees up space for the interior...I may have to consider one for my Honcho...

its looking really great. Love the tube work and mods on the chassis.

Thanks Storm, scary isn't it!?....

I haven't posted any updates lately because I'm trying to make the push to get over the hump. I have to have everything to the powder coater by this Friday, and have another secret project coming soon.

It won't be much longer

Great use of the High Lift chassis, just now seen this thread. I love what you did with the G-Wagon, Maybe I should do somthing similar to mine. Did you by chance keep the little side peices from the section you cut off, i am dire need of one...lol

Great Build

Thanks man, If you're talking the black trim pieces yes. I was planning on putting them back on, but they are that "greasy" type of plastic. I don't think they will splice together worth a darn, so will be making new styrene ones. PM me a pic of what is missing, I probably can hook you up.....

Tube work is done and ready for the powder coat. Now it's all mostly plastic work.

That's not funny! After I took the pics I went "hmmm, joining tubes here and here, body panels like this". Thankfully I was able to make the bad man stop though.......

I mentioned that I was thinking of just painting it. Now the Wife has hidden all of my paint until it's sent for PC

I think I love her...

well, where's the update, lol?
you see, you should have just painted it. My roof rack on the Rover was PC'd and it looks like crap from rolling it...next cleanup will be spray paint.

If you'd painted it you'd be building it now, lol...
