Thanks. The cool part of the build-off i entered with this thing is the fact that there aren't that many rules. I'll add some more unconventional details without turning it into a ''whacky racer'' because it will also be my 1.9 scalecomp rig. |

I found out the reduced Stompers are a bit too much to keep this thing narrow, low and fast. They will be replaced by these.(or maybe a slightly bigger tire) A couple of people asked me if i could show a picture of the HPI Bronco body and the reduced Stompers... |

No noticable bumpsteer with a chassis this low. The blower was too fragile and parts are really hard to come by these days(after all a nuke here and there does tend to mess up regular life quite a bit)so it's back to the good old ram-air.Armored ofcourse. To keep the heatsignature as low as possible the wheels are covered in flat white. Template for the floorpan. |

Floor and central rollbar. The biggest CB-antenna (8.5 inches tall) money can buy to make sure i'm one step ahead of ''the Bronze''. |

Body and rear axle are in the right position. (Still have to ''z'' the chassis behind the rear axle.) |

Glad to see that this one is coming along. I still think that the paint cool! Might need to break up some of the white in the wheels though. They tend to stand out a little to much. Just a suggestion. Keep it up! |

Thanks,Cruiserkb. You're right about the white but it's just a pre-shade,like this... It's a trick i use(d) alot in static model building. Now i get a natural chipping and weathering effect during the build. Afterwords i lightly dust it with the color of my choice and all the white and dirt built up in all the little nooks and crannies gives a more natural appearence. You can pre-shade with sandyellow and flatblack too. Then you do a washing and a weathering/drybrushing to really make it look good. Because of the same reason i already painted most of the body. Another detail this thing really needs. A carcrushing bullbar.(mock-up) |

Yes,that's one of the patterns i had in mind. My paint is based on this particular pattern used by the British BerlinBrigade during the Coldwar. Another historic urban camo pattern. |

It's just a pre-shade. (check out the static modelling sites>military,SF) Shading is one of many weathering techniques to give your model more depth and to make it look dusty and used. It gives your model character. Everything will be lightly covered in camo and the white will still be visible and make it look like the truck has been driven on dusty urban roads. After i've lightly sprayed on the camo i'll give it a drybrushing to lighten the centers of big surfaces and the highrising edges. Extreme cold (nuclear winter) and pulvarized concrete (destroyed buildings) give this really fine white/grey dust. I want to capture that specific look. |

I knew someone would ask that question. This rig is for a build-off i entered so it has to have a certain look right from the start. If i would drive it on a road here it would look muddy...not good for the effect i want to create. It will make sense when it's finished. After the build-off it will get natural weathering as a 1.9 scalecomp rig,no queens/statics on my shelves. |
