Well besides price, the scx10 is more scale looking because of the c channel frame but it is also very capable.
However, every one's scx10 pretty much looks the same.

I think you could get more performance out of the x trail

they each have there pro's and con's

Granted there are a large number of "Box Stock" SCX10's out there but look around before you say "They all pretty much look the same"

Here's a few samples of "different" SCX rigs

Sorry I don't have action shots for each, they are all in their owners garages now.

I dont want to start an arguement but with the xtrail its almost impossible for someone to copy another person's work.

So you can make an xtrail more unique.

Not yet, I'm actually building an X trail. Kinda funny huh? And my "Shop Truck" is an old mountaineer.

I think they both have good qualities. Nothing wrong with either. I picked up the Xtrail because it was such a great deal. I'll build a rig for my 5 year old to run.

If you're looking to go scale, then go scale. Get the scale chassis. How many 1:1 trucks use flat stock for their frame?.... Hopefuly none But, if your looking for something kinda semi-scale, then go for the x-trail. Its kinda like when hardcore crawler guys put an hpi truck body on a moa rig and think they have a scaler. Get serious.... Trucks use c-channel or box frames. Not flat stock.

I've never understood how an x-trail, Reign RC or similar chassis fits within the 'scale rules', but an AX-10 or similar chassis doesn't. While the x-trial is a great performer, look at it from a design stand point- short, verticle side plates and a few cross members. Sounds like a TVP chassis to me.

I know it's been argued before, I'm not trying to start it all over again and get 'demerrit points' against me, I just wish we could all figure out how to have fun together with all of our rigs.
