Looks like I tracked down a body for this rig (front clip)

It'll be a little bit before it gets here (on the slow boat) but that's still good news. Once it gets here I can start the front fenders and steering.

I've got to get all the links replaced with steel soon and then get the wheels chipped and scraped so I can get them rusting also.

You can always throw the wheels in a burlap sack with some sharp rocks and shake it up to get some "real" rock chips in the paint.

Not a bad idea. Jerry (DMG) also has an acidic solution to speed up the rusting.

Love this rig Josh, only thing I would change is the wheels, needs some beat up mismatched wagon wheels!

If you need some plastic dechromed, I just found out that gasoline does the trick really fast and random. Had a tank leak out a gallon in my garage over the weekend and it totally screwed up some plastic bumpers.

It's so hard to though!! Once the body gets here from overseas I'll start making a bunch more process.

I'm thinking about painting most of the tube and letting the rust work back through it. It's awesome working with the method that it SHOULD look like shit!

These came in today. They may find their way onto this rig now.

FYI a little DOT3 brake fluid will do the job without hurting the plastic. Used to do this with model cars years ago.

The steel is already pretty good. I'd like to find a way to weather the wood more than anything.

The Rat Rod bodies arrived for this truck last week. Trimmed one up roughly the other day. It will be trimmed quite a bit more still.
