I didn't see the mount holes for the upper links. I thought that was just the bling.

I'm hoping for faster but it will be a 1.9. It just is going to draw inspiration from the original. I just built the chassis and trimmed the body. Looking at how to do the cage work now.

It will be more complicated then the light weight minimal style of the OG Truckee.

I have seen your doing some welding. Does this mean this is not a DMG?

I did a bunch of initial work on this rig today. However I didn't take many pics.

I got truck sitting as a roller currently. The wheelbase is at 10" right now but I plan on stretching it to 11". I just made temp links out of 8-32 all-thread and Revo ends. I also have planned out the basics of where the body will sit and how the shocks will sit. I do plan on showing the front shocks through the hood. Tomorrow I will start to lay down some metal work.

This project isn't dead!

Picked up a Tekin 13.5 and MMP from Holmes last week.

Szerberasrasrasasraaszzers.... IFS SCX got me wanting to work back on this thing again actually. I called my Hobbico rep and told him what I wanted for the front end, he had some new parts that were perfect (thanks again J).

I will shifting the front end a little further back then in this picture. The shocks will be under the body of course. Thinking the front end will come back about 1/2"

Well, looky there. Interested in how you mate the IFS to the SCX. You're a smart feller, so I know you'll come up with something good.
"Rootar" really helped me by figuring out a geometrically correct steering setup. Other tips and tricks are documented in my thread too.
I got the same motor/ESC from Holmes Hobbies waiting for me at the PO.

Interested to see what you come up with for the front end. Not sure if you've seen my thread (the one I started in 2010 that Szernebebabebsersa got some inspiration from for his build) but I've got a little different way of mounting the RS4 diff housing. I also have an upcoming 2.2 IFS build that I want to try something else on for how to mount everything. Doesn't look like you are using an RS4 though, what did the front end come off of?

The C10 body looks way tiny on the chassis and wheels, but I'm sure you'll make it look sort of bad ass, at least in a few dozen pages or so we might see something cool.

If it's the RS4, don't forget to flip the rear axle so everything spins the same way... Subscribed...

As for mounting it to the SCX, it will be similar to a Slash 4x4. The assembly will sit in a cradle that mounts to the chassis rails.

Steering is always fun! I'll be using a typical crawler setup with a tie rod and drag link (BTA).

Correct, it's not an RS4. This one is from a new Nitro car that is being released in Early Jan by Great Plains. The gearing is just a tad faster than the underdrive gear set from Axial, coming in at 3.11:1 vs 3.3:1 for Axial. It uses a standard output shaft on the pinion so a driveshaft bolts right on. The diff is already locked as well.

As for flipping the rear axle. I may just use a VP housing so I can flip the gear as I wish.

Glad I had something that worked for you. I look forward to seeing this one in about 20 pages when it is close to being finished. Let me know when you get it all worked out and then you can build me one. That was the deal right........

Here is the donor for the front end.
