Are you going to use a 3 link with a panhard bar?

Small updates on parts: The new tires are on there way. Finished the links for the front to 4 link it. Also got the Axial radiator with fans mounted up. Started up on a fuel tank for the rear. And lastly, an interior 'tray' to mount some Blitzer Beetle half drivers to. |

Update 8: Another option for those 'desert speed runs' would be some RC4WD Two Face tires. Seeing as how they're discontinued now and were on sale, I picked up some sets. Here they are mounted up on the rig as well. And a shot of the rear spare with beadlock ring. One dilemma I'm having is to run all the beadlock screws or not. There are the six main or real beadlock screw holes. The rest are fake and accept very small 2.5mm bolts. And some reference shots from the Bomber Fab Facebook page of the original rig(s) and the tires it ran. So I'm able to fit an Axial radiator behind the cabin. I drilled and tapped some setscrews in and will cut them down. The setscrews allow me to mount some few tubing to them. I'll 'mate' the two with some heatshrink or make some small couplings out of styrene. With the transmission plate, the fit is close. Everything seems to fit really nice though (had to switch to an 84 spur to clear the V bars). I mounted some Velcro to both side panels. One to mount the esc to, and the other side will have the battery mounted up. Some wiring. I also cut the 'nubs' on the Axial axle down to lower the servo. This presented the issue of steering. I have some Hudy servo arms that may fit better. Here's a rough paper template of the interior tray. I'll mount some Tamiya Blitzer Beetle drivers to the top with a few accessories. Lastly, and overall shot of how the rig sits right now. Note: The spare will not stick out from the chassis that far once I get the proper spacers. Working on a gas tank for the rear(under the spare) as well. |

simply amazing. i never saw those tires go on sale. are they still up? how many sets did you pick up? look way better than flatirons. i am very cuious to see how it performs and how the suspension reacts in the whoops. |

I'll be picking up some styrene sheet from the local Whistle Stop to finish the interior tray and fuel cell for the back. I'm also thinking of adding a 'drip pan' below the faux filler neck similar to the Spyder Customs KOH rig. | ||

i would try the dual spring 110mm shocks. and maybe for a dual shocks, the ultimate scale shocks(or hot racing) to look like bypass shocks.

Junfac/GMade just came out with some killer looking shocks. They actually have three different types and bunch of different sizes for each. Last edited by Modbug; 05-21-2012 at 03:11 AM. Reason: add |

Buggy is looking good. Details do make the build, IMO. Sorry didn't mean to hijack the thread (with the shock info). Beginning to really like the two face tires, didn't notice much at first. [/QUOTE] Without the mention, the thought was, it's just a support, cool idea. . . |
