| Bomber Fab KOH Buggy V2
Hey guys, This thread will be for the rebuild of Wreckers KOH Bomber. I picked up this rig as soon as I could when I saw it in the classifieds. Soon after, I was able to attend my first KOH event while not having to watch if through the live stream. Therefore, its lead to this. One of my favorite rigs is now mine and I can't wait to wheel it. I plan to leave almost everything as it is, with small changes to suit the equipment and parts that I'm running. Chassis: Solid Rod Chassis built by Wrecker Suspension: Proline power stroke shocks VP shock mounts in the rear Rims/Tires: O.G Axial rims MTHead beadlock rings 2-56 SS Cap head screws Body: Aluminum Tins Lexan in the future as well Drivetrain: MIP X-Duty Splines up front MIP X-Duty Spline female in the rear MIP Summit Spline in the rear Front Axle: Axial CVDS Axial High steer Knuckles Axial HD locker Rear Axle: Axial Straight axles Axial Straight lockouts Axial HD locker Electronics: LRP brushless crawler esc Airtronics 94780m servo Airtronics RDS8000 crawler radio 2s Reedy 1600mah lipos A smaller Reedy lipo for lights/accessories I grabbed these pics from WRECKERS thread so you guys can see the original build up of the rig. Head over here for the original build as well: Bomber Fab KOH Buggy *credit to Wrecker for the photos* I received the rig pretty much like the pictures above, with links as well to help aid in setting up a good wheelbase etc. Fast forward a bit, and now on Spring vacation I was able to put in some serious time to get this thing rolling. Now onto the build itself: First and foremost I needed to have a place to mount the electronics. This will sit under the hood inbetween the front shock mounts. It will house a front LED light, receiver, esc, and some connectors for the lights etc. This is just a little faux tank that will 'hang' between the rear shocks. Faux fan that I may incorporate into the rig somewhere. Proline batteries for 'power'. Here's a little teaser as how the chassis sits right now. With the skins mounted up as well. |

| Re: Bomber Fab KOH Buggy V2 Yeah Wrecker did a superb job. I remember when RCP was in Upland and I would eye the rigs they had from him. Always wished I could get my hands on an F-toy rig they had there that he had made. Thanks man. I have some updates to put up. Slowly, but surely it's coming along. Thanks for checkin it out . |

one thing, i think you should run rc4wd dual spring shocks. they are pretty scale and would fit in perfect. i also think you should run the spare. it looks way better. if you decide to sell it, i call dibs. |

If your local shops don't have anything (which I recommend to check them out first) try this. McmasterCarr here in C.A. Mind you, this is one of the vast amounts of materials they carry. Feel free to browse around the site and find what suits you. McMaster-Carr Thanks, Wrecker did an awesome job on this. I would love to run dual shocks but I don't think I have the room with the way things are lying out. I have yet to hear many great things about there shocks as well. Everything else they carry is superb though. Nevertheless, the Proline shocks have always done me well. I'll upload pics soon; I have fabbed a spare tire carrier as I too liked the look with the spare on.

I have a few chassis that Wrecker built, he does some really nice work! Glad to see it again, I know I wanted it but missed the opportunity. |

Update :2 Wanted to add a couple more spare features. This is a Tamiya exhaust pipe snubbed off at the end and a simple 3mm to hold an LED from Team3Six. Half way through the line I cut it. I tinned one end of the wire, while the receiving end has a female banana plug. The idea is that the tinned wire will 'bounce' inside and make the LED flash like simulated backfire. Here is the front electronics tray painted up in Flat Black. The light bar to be mounted inside of it. For those curious about the light. You can find more info in my thread here: Your mom wish she had LEDs like these If you want to just go straight to the site: LEDs: DIY, Superflux, 12V Prewired LEDs, LED Kits and more Mounted up. I'm thinking I'll use these as a template and make some in Lexan as well to paint up. Spare tire mount as well. With the spare mounted. And an overall look. |

looks cool man. just one more thing, i believe that the spare is tilted in the back and the mount is shaped like a spike. it probably sounds like i am really complaining, but this truck is superb. |

the mercury would roll backwards and activate on climbs ("engine under load") and the spring would allow it to bounce like u were saying.. killer idea tho! i love it!

With a few changes to appearance I think it'll fit right in, it's worth a shot at least. The other Idea I had was utilizing a piece of styrene tubing, with 2 mini deans 'poking' through the ends. Then, have a small ball bearing inside that could role back and forth, thus making contact and turning the light on/off.
