damn these hardbodies are expensive to build!!! so i was looking at paint today ( premature i know) but its still another thing to decide on and was thinking the "stellar blue" and a silver flame job or something to that nature...

going to work on the body tonight and maybe tomorrow.. lawnmower racing season is coming up fast so i gotta get my jalopy up and running for april

added a couple more little pieces late last night... also got to thinking about maybe getting a custom decal made and sticking it on the hood... here's an idea i saw in one of my motorcycle magazines that i bought yesterday... it can be made a little more RC related..

got bored and i figured that i would set the body and the bed on the chassis to see how much i gotta trim. here is a couple pics of a crew cab long box sitting on the stock honcho chassis..

i eyeballed the rough wheelbase and it came out to just under 15" so there's some chopping that has to be done.

so i got the window pieces glued in, did one last night and just did the other one right now we are waiting for the glue to dry. once the glue dries i will square up the window opening... so now that that is done next i would like to get the bed cut and glued so i can figure out the wheelbase and start working on that.

Nice work so far man. These hardbodies are expensive to build and they take ALOT of time too. Most people don't realize how much goes into these until they try to build one. Yours is turning out great man. Keep up the good work .

thanks man its nice to hear it from a more skilled builder than me.. when i first started looking into building one i figured it wouldnt take long but holy crap man its taken me a long time to get this far haha.. the cab is the hard part and i've noticed there is a couple places where that i could have done it differently but its my first hardbody so live and learn haha

thanks! i have a long way to go but its slowly coming along.

i work kinda slow but i got probably like 10 hours into it so far and about 100 bucks. next is shortening the bed then i can strip the chassis and get that lengthened and back in working order.. i have a bulldog wireless winch too that will replace the 3racing thats on the bumper now and a friend has a set of aluminum front shock hoops that i said i'd buy a set but maybe i can trade the 3racing winch for them... should have some more updates later today..

using bondo for the bulk of the filling then i will go over it and fill all the pin holes and stuff with glazing putty. enjoy
