Feeling like that's not really "mild" trimming. But it's up to the judges.

Hey guys. I cropped the top off last night with the Dremel. Got some cool stuff to do on the inside to make it look good but it came off nice and easy

I'm working on the rear interior some. Gonna remove the seats and put some more useful things in there.

Also gotta make a simple cage for the driver area. Shouldn't take too long.

Got the new cage work done on this. Took the lid off a few weeks back and finally made the cage today. I tried my best to keep it trim and small so that it's not catching on everything.

Should do work up at ECsc.

Looking good!

Where's your trans? Middle or front? I ask, as I want to mention that things are looking a little high overall. Wondering if you can bring the body down at all.

the tranny is up front. i have a transfer case from GCM in the middle.

yeah it may be a little high... but it drives like a tank. i've gotten it on some pretty precarious places and it stays where it is.

i've got everything about as low as it can go right now. i also think some of the height you are seeing is some optical illusion too. i've got the bumpers and fenders trimmed a bit so that everything articulates without hitting anything.

Good stuff. You're probably right. Optical Illusions, or I'm off my meds again. Looking forward to seeing it in person!

hey guys, this thing went through quite a lot of changes before ECSC '14, and most of them did me well. ended up with 4th place in C1.

now i am changing a couple other things. i never liked the hard plastic fender flares, so i decided to hack up some Dingo flares and bolt them on. they sit higher, which should allow for a lower stance of the whole truck. it sits just a tad high.

i was thinking about getting the Old Man Emu 80mm shocks for it. i figured they wouldnt be worse than stock scx10 shocks that i currently have on there, and they look great.

any advice on those shocks?

here are some pics of how the body looks with the flares.

i also took some time to replace the stock lockers on the things and put some new bearing in the thing. the tranny had two frozen bearing, and i replaced all the bearings in the axles. regreased everything and got it back together.

I like the OME's. Get yourself the spring collection that comes as an add-on. Gives you few options on spring rate.

They're a good shock for a medium to light weight truck.

Edit: Congrats on your 4th place!

Thanks man! You had some great builds there man.

So the ome's... This truck isn't that light. It compresses the stock axial springs a good amount already. What would you call a medium weight truck? This one is at least 9-10lbs. The body alone is easily over a pound. Darn hard bodies.

the new wheel worked great.

took them up to BobRocks and did some trail building then a little bit of running. they are light like they are supposed to be so i am gonna need to get some wheel weights on this sucker again. but they look awesome out there
