Default Switch to SCX10.2?

First thing is first, I financially can own only one scale rig so both isnt an option.
I own: HPI Venture
I want(?): SCX10.2 Cherokee
Reasons are, simply, the 10.2 is just a better bang for buck at this point being there is the $50 off sale going on right now. But im just not sure if I should go through the hassle of switching over and having to sell my Venture.

Venture:
No uni's
Plastic Links
Less ground clearance
Lack of aftermarket support

10.2:
Uni's
Metal links
Better gc
Great aftmrk supp

If i did all said upgrades to the Venture, id be in a ton of money, and after all still would have the same GC. Is it worth the struggle to switch over? Im really on the fence and just need some more opinions.
Anything helps
Thanks!

for less then 100$ you can have cvd's and metal links. The venture is just as capable as the scx10ii if you do some modifications. Its going to be more of a hassle to sell and start over and the venture has better weight distribution.

You never get your money back on a used rig. Enjoy what you have.

universals may be out before end of the year. If you want metal links measure what you have currently and order them from VP individually.... there are solutions you just cant pick them up in a package with a barcode yet.

Keep whacha got unless you just have to have an Axial, as far as metal links go you could always make your own, I've made several sets out of stainless 8-32 all thread, stainless 1/4 sleeve and Traxxas 5347 Revo rod ends.

My advice would be to list your Venture for what you need out of it. If it sells, then upgrade. If it doesn’t, keep it. There really isn’t that much of a difference on the trail anyways and you don’t even see the chassis with the body on.

Things that can be done to any truck will make the HPI a better runner.
Tires?
Heavy wheels?
Super strong servo?
Brushless Castle ESC & 4pole/6pole motor?

Research the aftermarket & see what is available if there is something you're looking for, or you can custom make.
Steel / Stainless / Titanium lower links?
Bumpers?
Rear shock angle mods?
Drooper or 1/2 sprung setup?
Ascender cvd mod?

Unless you are going to comps & trying to be hard core the HPI is fun truck like most of them.

Thanks for all the help guys.
I will be keeping my Venture and slowing building it up to hopefully one day be a beast!

I'm glad you're keeping it. Venture universals and axle brass are coming. No need to upgrade. Plus, it's built better with higher quality materials than anything Axial.
