Chevy Crewcab Dually Build

I finally finished the front bumper!!! I'm also realizing that I need stiffer foams in these front tires! Any suggestions?

Ok. The back ones are fine because of the duals but yah, the front ones just squish down too easy.

Just thought I'd show you what I had planned for paint when I had it...

That's cool! I'm really into black and blue. I mean the color of my vehicles!!! LOL! Lappdogg is the guy that's going to paint it for me. He suggested this at first. By the way, I'm stalling on the paint because I'm still waiting on something that is being made custom for this build. It will have to be painted too so I can't send it off until I have it.

Truck looks great. Didn't realize you had that many pictures of it and that the front bumper wasn't metal. you had me fooled

Lol! Welcome to RCC Travis! Yip! Hand made from styrene. I didn't copy anything either. It was all imagination! There is a metal plate inside of it that the winch is mounted to and that mounts the bumper to the chassis. And all the pics are why I told you to take them of your new project. We all like to share our skills and imagination.

Ok, a little bit of progress over the last couple of weeks. I've been running pretty hard and haven't had a lot of down time. 1st, man I really like scale hardware! I did the front axle up! 2nd, I want this truck to be waterproof. I got this idea from another build thread but I can't for the life of me remember which one! Anyway, I got a project box from good ol Radio Shack. It is bigger than what I needed but I guess I can look at it as there's room to grow! LOL! I used the Dremel and a grout removing bit to cut my holes for my extensions. I inserted them from underneath and glued them in place. I will use silicone around the wires, inside of the box just to make sure nothing gets in. Then I used my handy dandy label maker to make labels for the plugs. If I didn't, I would never remember what they are all for!!!! But this box serves another purpose too! It cleaned up all of my wiring! Oh yah! I also finally got these bad boy RC4WD Punisher shafts! Talk about heavy duty! I think they added a pound to the truck! But they'll never break!

Thank you Ben! I'm kind of stalled right now. I haven't had very much time to work on it and I'm waiting on one more thing before I can paint it.

I played around a little more with the wiring. I like how clean it is like this! Maybe it's overkill but I know it will last. And everything is separated so if there is a problem later, I can fix just that problem without having to tear out everything. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/adegujyn.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/e9e7u8uh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/y3esy5yb.jpg Oh yah, sorry fr8cture, still no paint! LOL!

That project box is genius! It's a great way to keep everything tidy in the box and out of it too. I may have to use this idea in the future.

Terrific looking Chevy, too! I can't wait to see the paint job.
