Chevy Crewcab Dually Build I finally finished the front bumper!!! I'm also realizing that I need stiffer foams in these front tires! Any suggestions? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/3eru6anu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/ju8uhere.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/zy2a8ure.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/3yparudu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/3e4ara5y.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/ju3e8asy.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/14/8y4edame.jpg Sent from the great unknown!! |

Re: Chevy Crewcab Dually Build Truck looks great. Didn't realize you had that many pictures of it and that the front bumper wasn't metal. you had me fooled |
Chevy Crewcab Dually Build Lol! Welcome to RCC Travis! Yip! Hand made from styrene. I didn't copy anything either. It was all imagination! There is a metal plate inside of it that the winch is mounted to and that mounts the bumper to the chassis. And all the pics are why I told you to take them of your new project. We all like to share our skills and imagination. Sent from the great unknown. |
Ok, a little bit of progress over the last couple of weeks. I've been running pretty hard and haven't had a lot of down time. 1st, man I really like scale hardware! I did the front axle up! 2nd, I want this truck to be waterproof. I got this idea from another build thread but I can't for the life of me remember which one! Anyway, I got a project box from good ol Radio Shack. It is bigger than what I needed but I guess I can look at it as there's room to grow! LOL! I used the Dremel and a grout removing bit to cut my holes for my extensions. I inserted them from underneath and glued them in place. I will use silicone around the wires, inside of the box just to make sure nothing gets in. Then I used my handy dandy label maker to make labels for the plugs. If I didn't, I would never remember what they are all for!!!! But this box serves another purpose too! It cleaned up all of my wiring! Oh yah! I also finally got these bad boy RC4WD Punisher shafts! Talk about heavy duty! I think they added a pound to the truck! But they'll never break! http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/a2e9ysuh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/sa8ytazu.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/y9ymysez.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/5e3a8uve.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/y9a3e4a3.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/29/8ysa7y8y.jpg |

Thank you Ben! I'm kind of stalled right now. I haven't had very much time to work on it and I'm waiting on one more thing before I can paint it. |

I played around a little more with the wiring. I like how clean it is like this! Maybe it's overkill but I know it will last. And everything is separated so if there is a problem later, I can fix just that problem without having to tear out everything. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/adegujyn.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/e9e7u8uh.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/y3esy5yb.jpg Oh yah, sorry fr8cture, still no paint! LOL! |
Re: Chevy Crewcab Dually Build That project box is genius! It's a great way to keep everything tidy in the box and out of it too. I may have to use this idea in the future. Terrific looking Chevy, too! I can't wait to see the paint job. |
