I was trying to find a place for the esc and the rx and I noticed how big the seat backs are....

The seat is the perfect size for the new rain 160A esc and the other will fit the rx.

Made a rear hinge mount and battery bracket from 3/4"X1/16" aluminum flat bar.

The front mount is a piece of aluminum sheet that was bent onto an L shape and screwed to the grill screws on the Jeep. I found the excess body post I trimmed from my kid's MST CMX Bronco and screwed it to the aluminum angle so it goes through the CFX body mount hole and it's held in with a body pin below. I only did one side cuz I'm a slacker, I might do the other side someday.

I abandoned the plan to put the ESC as RX in the seat backs and made a rock slider/bracket from sheet aluminum. Again, I only did one side so far cuz of the slacker thing.

The final configuration is an 85T integy motor from my original AX-10 Scorpion, a low profile Spektrum S6230 servo, a New Rain 160A ESC, and an Austar 3Ch radio.

The drive train is really loud for some reason so I need to check it out. My kid's CMX Bronco is super loud too so maybe it's an MST thing.

Wonder Woman and her sidekick took the Barbie Jeep for her first run on the rockpile and they had a great time.

It is super slow with the 85t motor, but it's so tipsy that I'll probably leave it alone for now.

The short wheelbase, giant tires, and weight up high make it a challenge on the rock pile. The RC4WD Rock Stomper tires are crap, they look cool, but have very little bite. I'll try the Flatirons next and put the Stompers on a heavier rig.

After swapping tires, I will take the Ascender, Komodo, HG, CMX Bronco, and maybe even the SCX10 out to the rockpile and see how Barbie measures up

Sorry for the delay in updates, the fans are why we do this, I discovered by reading submissions to this forum that the excessive noise emanating from both of my running MST trucks is coming from installing the wrong pinion gears.

I was using standard pinions rather than the m06 that MST requires. I ordered a selection of MST pinions from Asiatees and will eagerly await their arrival before running them again.

In the mean time, I will replace the temporary slider/ electronics support with a permanent one that extends from fender to fender and has a taller vertical section and I might even make one for the other side

My wife wanted bigger tires so I tried the Ascender tires and they make an already cartoonish rig even better

I'm always in search of inexpensive radios because I have lots of rigs and they are driven 5 at a time often, me, my wife, and three kids.

I was looking at a flysky and then I found this on Banggood, it's an Austar 3ch and it was only $25

One of my kids has a flysky 4ch touch screen with telemetry for his on-road car and it's a good radio, and I also have a flysky 2ch that came with the Komodo RTR and I like the Austar much better.

If you want a good budget radio, try this one

Check out the RadioLink line up. I've got a 4ch and gyro for fairly cheap.

The Cheep looks humorously good. Is it capable?

Thanks for the recommend, I saw that radio link 4ch on Banggood and was curious. Does the gyro work as a stability management system on a fast car? I would like to try stability management on one of my short course trucks.

As far as performance of the BJ, It's really top heavy so I added high mass wheels and sticky tires and it does well on the rockpile as long as you're careful

The Rx is reviewed to be a good gyro. I've yet to use it on my Exo that I got it for.

It's sold out on Banggood, I also have an EXO that I would like to try a gyro on.

I have a 4ch Traxxas radio that I think supports TSM, but I haven't looked into it since I spent the winter on the Scalers.

The FlySkys have decent to good reviews also. Supposedly they can be reprogrammed/unlocked to do all sorts of things. As for the RadioLink, fleaBay has just as good of prices.

I got the M06 pinion installed and it's much quieter, but still super slow and top heavy....

Installed Boom Racing high mass wheels with OG Flatirons with stock proline foams, I need to try a two stage foam.

I tried a 3s battery and it really helped, it now has a top speed around walking speed and the low end is really good
