if the first wasnt all hacked up I would say that one, but considering its not in very good shape, go with the second. Or like GulaVW69 said, rockwerks has some bodies that would look really good on it.

| damn GT40, that Ranger is badass man. I agree about the suspension set-up. You know what would be a nice rear-end for this, a Kyosho Mad Force. You can cut it down to fit. |

I would also say the first body (but one that's in better condition). It looks like a Class 8 truck that I used to watch locally back in the day: |

After looking at all those great trucks i think i'll throw mine in the trash! does anyone have the diff diameter of a madforce axle i am worried about it being to big for the 1.9 tires i am using? Also if i use the first body i am buying a new one that one been hacked up on several different trucks.I am also thinking about reworknig front susp. but thats no easy task, all i have is bad skills not mad skills. |

I like the second body quite a bit, have seen in on another prerunner on here. How well will those joints on your chassis hold up with some hard jumps and stuff? Josh |

i say go with body #1 for many reasons...(if you can get a new one) #1 because it has an old school "rough-riders" paint job, with that body on it, it looks like a CORR pro-lite truck, and also, because the truck you are building wont have alot of suspensiopn travel, but will have alot of power, it would handle and drive like a pro-lite style truck. but thats just my opinion.. if you need any pics of back-halfs or suspension setups, let me know. i am very knowledgable in the faster field of off roading. |

I've had plans to use that 2nd body in a project myself... wally-world rocks! FYI.... that body is made of some cheap plastic. I already cracked it along the top of the bed. Don't expect much from it. |

I was thinking of doing something like this. I wanted the suspension to work/function like the 1:1's and look as close as possible for scale reasons. I was going to concentrate on having a very low stance (like you seem to be mocking up for)...and have most of the suspension travel in droop, and then make some scale sized air bumps or something. That way when you jump it, the suspension would fall away and then compress back under the truck on the landing, just like the big boys. FYI...I found that the Jato front arms are a good candidate because they are long and a larger scale so as to make them seem longer on a somewhat smaller scale rig. I think they are somewhere in the 4.5" to 5" long neighborhood. If you used those and only made a center section that was like a 1/2" wide...you'd end up with around 9.5" to 10" of width wheel nut to wheel nut. This is a perfect match if you use a rear Kyosho axle that is at 12" and can easily be made more narrow to 10" or 11". Keep it up...I'll be watching this build |

Thanks everybody for all the great ideas and pics i think i have everything i need now. I am going to have to use the black body it looks like to get the arms longer the old school body is just too narrow i need a body a about 7.5 in. wide to get enough width to get some good wheel travel. I also scrapped the frame and am working on a new one ,I got a little ahead of my planning but the new one definetly should not dissapoint anyone ( someone will always say something ).

I am still not satisfied with the body choices so i'm going to ditch the body selection and make a truggy stlye project instead with either lexan or thin aluminum body panels like this. should i start a new thread and cancel this one with a whole new frame starting?
