I've had my eye on these bodies for some time now. Do they seem durable, what type of material are the made from, is it one molded piece or separate parts glued together? I know that's a lot of questions, thanks.

They are CNC router cut from ABS sheet. Seems pretty sturdy and is all glued together. Should anything break or separate, it will be easy to repair.

Amazing build! I would love to see those wheels filled up with Locked Up RC scale hardware.

Love the hinge you built for the body mount!
Is the 3d file for that part available to download anywhere?

Awesome build please keep this thread updated,

I am planning to build a Unimog based on BP custom chassis who is compatible with SCX10 geometry Initially I wanted the same Unimog body than yours but then I realize that I don't like the big rear cab so I ordered just the front cab to build the back later , Now I am debating between which axles should I choose for my project, Initially I order the VP Currie Rockjock axles just because I really like the design, but that was an impulsive purchase and now I realize that build the rockjock axles cost the same than portals axles . I know that the real Unimog has portal axles but in your opinion:
how do they fit using the Unimog body?
do you think that the Unimog body sits too high using portal axles?
do you think that portals perform better than ArR44 or rockjock axles?

this is the body and chassis that I choose

Thanks! I really wanted to be able to tilt the cab and it should work pretty well. It isn't posted anywhere though and you'd also need the aluminum plate that I have everything attached to.

The portals fit perfectly and were the main reason I chose a Unimog.

The body sits at a good height for me, I'm going for a modified look anyways and this truck has quite a bit of travel. Ideally these axles would work best on a Vanquish chassis or something that is high clearance for portal axles.

Performance I can't comment on since I haven't driven them yet, but the added axle clearance is definitely welcome and the lower gear reduction in the portal boxes will reduce torque twist. For a Unimog build I feel they are a must, otherwise the spirit of the truck is not quite what it should be.

This build was shelved to finish up the K-55 Rally Truck and now that it's done, I can get back on this one! We printed some mounts to fit the bed to the SCX10-II chassis and it feels like it is on there really solid! Next up will be some spring loaded latches to hold the cab down.

Already printed part of that system to get the correct height, now it's on to getting the latch system done.

Then we just need to knock out an interior, the rear cage and spare tire holder, fuel tanks and a few LEDs and I'll finally be able to drive it!

I'm really enjoying this build. The cab looks so much better than axials standard unimog body. I'm looking forward to seeing some action shots when this is finished.

Printed up all the parts for this roll bar setup last week, cleaned them up and painted over the weekend and just mounted it in the Mog.

Also did up a filler panel for the huge hole in the bed. Working on the interior now!

Drivers' side fuel tank is done and mounted! We're going to have a 1,000mi + range!

Did your body come assembled??? I have one like that in a box - about two point five billion pieces. No instructions - LOL
Need to get back to it, seeing your awesome rig!

Yep, it was pre-assembled! I have dismantled this truck and started over though, it is now on a VS4-10 Ultra chassis.

I have this exact body on a TRX4! It is fantastic. I didn't build mine but mine has cantilever rear shocks so the bed can stay flat.
Proline Grunts look brilliant on it.
