Great looking truck, but that's way too much weight inside the tires imo, especially since you already have aluminum wheels. Tires are quite tall too which puts more strain on the entire drivetrain, gearing might need checked (use smaller pinion gear) but I'm suspecting the weight of tires/wheels, tall tires, over-geared, possibly lots of heavy throttle use are what's smoking your motors. TooOldForThis, very nice weathering job, love these old Datsun/Toyota hardbody trucks! Did you use an X-Acto to make the broken windshield look? Where's your tiny truck lately?
