Wow - that was a real slog with all the masking, painting, unmasking, color change, painting, more unmasking, texture change...phew. Anyway, got the exterior shot. Changed my mind with bedliner on the roof and went with satin black, which of course, resulted in more masking. I think it turned out really well and I got mostly nice, crisp lines everywhere. A couple tiny bleed throughs with the bedliner, but nothing a detail brush can't fix. I only did the lights and indicators on the front as far as decals. I have a sneaking feeling he's going to want to hand detail things like the door handles, grill slots, hood vents, etc. I did end up ordering a nice front and rear bumper set, as well as a roof rack with LED light bar. So, once those arrive I'll get them installed. All that's really left to do after that is hand it off to him! |

Maaaaaannnn, that is REALLY looking nice. He's gonna love it. I'd love to see what he does to "weather" it, once you give it to him. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Thanks guys - I appreciate it. I've been rooting around in my parts bin looking for a few scale bits as well. Got a Hi-Lift jack and a tow chain. I don't wanna over do it though. I'd like to give him the chance to make it "his".

When I saw it on the rocks I wondered how nervous you were that it might roll over... but I'm guessing you were VERY careful. Such a great project. Would be neat to see his reaction when he receives it.

I got the roof rack installed and all the additional LED's wired up. Looking like quite the little expedition / adventure rig now. Just waiting on the bumpers at this point. |

Thanks all! Unfortunately, we were not able to connect over Thanksgiving. His daughter ended up having a cheer meet in KY so we had to bag our plan. We’re going to shoot for around Christmas now. Kinda bummed, but it’ll give me a little more time to sort her all out for him.
