you wer the one saying that the combo of 44'' super swampers and a big block 454 and a 60/14 bolt was a bad idea. read my post after that THEY WERE BUILT IN THE '80's AND WERE BUILT AS DAILY DRIVERS NOT MUD BOGGERS!

What year is that.. Looks to be about an 85!?
Everything up here in Jersey gets eaten by the Rust Bug eventually :-(

dang, my dad had an old 72 chev blazer and man was it mean, 37's, 454, 14 rear, can't remember the front, manual lockers all around, disc brakes, sky blue and white, it went anywhere, wish I had some pics.

Really nice work with the crew cab what colors you going to go with or did I miss that post?

yea that toy was sick. and your blazer is cool too. what does it have in the rear? a 10b? up front has a 10b too right. my dads building one of the GMC cabovers into 4x4 and hes got a d44 up front and a d60 in the back with a divorced d24. plans top run 35s too. your crew cab looks sick!! gotta make another one but as a truggy. like one of the runners in the 06 top truck challenge. that would look sweet. lets se a pic of the body on the frame. about the shocks you could mount the in a V like this

lol ar ey ou talin about the shock pic he made? when you post em up it deletes unnecesary spaces and stuff. i get what he means. i cant mount them like that because they interfere with the springs and they are kinda long and they will hit the bed. so the setup i have right now is the most optimum all around. i wish i could inboard them or just stagger them but too many variables come into play.

Yeah, more build! Just got my Clod body yesterday and am in the process of removing the paint so I can fill in the hole in the hood and the sun roof hole in the roof. I have to cut out the roll bar mounts in the bed and fill in the holes. Not sure about lowing the bed floor though as my plastic skills are not the best and I hate to screw up the bed. I thought the clod had a larger wheel base but come to find it is only 11 inches from center to center.

have my frame rails bent up (did 2 dif sets that are slightly different). I am hoping to get another set of turned down tlt shocks.

For the shocks you could possibly mount them inboard by using a lower mounting point on the axle and angling them.

I have been searching for a transfercase design so I can mount the motor and a gear reduction up front under the hood. This will leave me more room for interior. Sure would be nice to find a compact 2 gear transfercase. I plan on making mine two tone. Tan as the main color and red as the secondary color.

For a rear bumper I plan on making a 12 inch drop bumper out of 20 gauge steel then covering it with aluminum sheeting and polishing it to a chrome like shine. I may even try the same with a front bumper.

I am also going to bend up some exhaust pipes. Going to use 3/16 brake tubing with polished 1/4 inch tips.

Too bad work is starting to get int he way of my plans now. Stupid spring is starting to get in the way as it is causing nicer weather which means work is starting. (I work for an excavating company).

Still undecided on what wheels and tires to run on this setup. Looking for more of a daily driver look so something in a scalish 33 or 31 is in order. I would love to find some scale looking Chev rally wheels that were used in the mid 80s.

obijuan, I would like to see more of the interior as it gets completed. I may even look to you to build a similar one for me if you would be willing.

i am inboarding and staggering mine by fliping the shock mounts down so the shocks mount lower on the axle. but my truck sits a little higher to clear the new wheels and im not running the shocks at full length since im counting on some suspension droop to get flex. i have pictures i can post. also i plan on running a rc10gt trans as a transfercase, and mounting the motor up front but i don't know what gear box to use up front.
