Dez: that minion looks mean. I run a JP1 on my GSpeed but after a while I will cut it down like the Hilux on my Sherpa.

The Desert Rat body has taken a beating and replacements are getting impossible to find. I need to start looking for a replacement body PDQ and would prefer to run something that isn’t as common as the PW body (as much as I like it) or the Creep ( own a few already) body. | |

Quick and dirty paint job for the hardbody, still need to add some numbers to the doors, and I'm hoping 3Brothers will have their winches back in stock soon, as that's one of the last pieces I need for this rig.. I even painted some tail lights... because ... scale. |

I agree, the minimalistic body paint looks sharp.

I was able to weigh my rig on a friends scales yesterday and by dumb luck I ended up with ~59% front, ~41% rear, and 50/50 side to side. It's nice to know it's where it is in terms of balance. I got some nice driving time in yesterday, and am very much enjoying the performance. Shopping for winches now, and hoping to catch my first comp soon.

I am in the middle of my class 2 rebuild as Class 2 has changed into a shafty 1.9 rock crawler than a scale truck. You have given me tons of ideas I thank you for all the detailed photos. |

Quick update, I am toying with the idea of turning this into a c3 rig, or selling it, not sure yet. I have an nsdrc winch, controller, etc. just need to install it. I installed a new Spderpig rear bumper, and will install their roof rack once I paint the body. I decided to pinch the bed, but not bob it. While I'm doing that I decided to paint it a new color, thinking metallic blue, potentially with gunmetal accents, all sprayed with clear matte. My styrene skills aren't so hot, so I have a good bit of filler work to complete, before it's paint time. I'm making a 'grille' and windshield eyebrow from some perforated metal I have laying around. Hopefully my vision works and it looks somewhat not horrible Current state is sanded through most of last paint job, bed pinch mostly done, shaved the sun roof lip down, and some mass of filler where I tried to heat the front edge of the pinch on one side to get it to pinch more smoothly, like I did in the front. Well, that went to hell, and I ended up with a funky dent. Thankfully I think I can get most of it flatted with a pound or two of tamiya putty I need to work on the rear a bit, as it's off a little bit. The body is leaning a bit in the last picture, but you can still see the left side is off some. I may leave it, as it's a comp truck that will continue to get beat to hell, haha.
