Since I was at Hobbytown I picked up a set of underdrive gears for the rear axle. I had it apart so figured I might as well put them in. A coating of Rocksmith Gear Jelly and they are good to go. I also took a picture of what the shafts and bearing looked like fromt the front axle. Nasty stuff. The GH Racing C's have a little binding on one side, I'll heve to file it down a bit I guess. I wish they would have had Axial parts. You can see the GC-2 axle plate I used on the rear. The geometry looks really nice. You can also see the limiting strap. I also picked up a RC4WD King Kong shackle while I was there. This thing is pretty beefy and looks nice. I may try to use the bracket later but for now I stuck it on the front tow point. The bumper was in the way of the tires really bad so I had to cut it off. It's a shame because that bumper was a pain to build. I left some bullhorns though for wrapping up the winch line. A couple dabs of RTV silicone should help keep crap out of the housings this time. Here's the transmission and 7T Cobalt Puller. I stole the filter off Guido too since I was taking the trans. You can see the 54/12 32 pitch gears as well. They are about equal to 84/17 48 pitch gears but won't get grit stuck in them. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 08-19-2010 at 10:07 PM. |

Now Pepe's warming up! A front shot for Ric and a hood shot for Toyo. The belly clearance is 3 1/8" with the Rok Lox. A bit tall but it is what it is. The 13 1/4" wheelbase should help compensate on the climbs. You can see one of the tires just barely off the ground in the articulation shots. A Coors can is a bit taller than a pop can, I think it would touch all 4 on a pop can. But beer is better. I need to trim the grill a bit for clearance. You can see I had to cut off the rear tow point to clear the rear servo, but with the chassis ending right above the rear axle I think weight distribution will be good for the truck pull and it wont try to lift the front tires too bad. Gotta finish up electronics and put new oil in the shocks. |

Pepe is looking great Chris, can't wait to see how it does. Can't get over the axle mounted servo though...... It actually looks better than I thought it would with 2.2's, the tires tuck nicely. Last edited by War Pig; 08-19-2010 at 10:19 PM. |

If I ditched the axle mounted servos I could lower it quite a bit like "Pimpin Ain't Easy" Yeah, the axle mounted servo detracts a bit but you gotta think "cheater" and I don't need the points. Last edited by Grizzly4x4; 08-19-2010 at 10:27 PM. | |

I can see some resemblance in the stance. The wheels too. |

I didn't really want to cut off the headlights but it was necessary. Still rubs a bit but I think we can live with it.

Between you and Harley you two are making me want to build a 2.2 scaler. Don't know where to start though. Chris I love this truck even more now since the makeover. Great work! |
