man, those shocks are sweet. i thought old tlt shocks were trash, and now you have me thinking... they would look awsome on my scale prerunner that im building. i just need some that are 1/4" longer for the bypass shocks.... and external reservors. nice truck by the way. im jealous. KEvIN |

First off, Madhatter, your truck is awesome and those shocks are amazing . I loved them so much I had to have a set of my own. So today I made my own on the lathe. Hope you don't mind me posting a pic! |

I agree, needs those white wagon wheels with some painted on "rust" to complete the look. My favorite scale rig.

Those shock are kick ***! I tried it to a set of shocks I have. Needless to say, they diddnt turn out as good as yours! Mine are all uneven. But they look alright I guess. I just chucked the shock into the drill press, and used my file to grind down the body of the shock. |

AdamF and jeepster I use a 1/2 drill in the vise so that the shock lays horrizontal. Its alot easier with it that way because you have better control. As far as any real technique it just too many years of invention out of necescity. As for the wheels , pretty much every mud bogger runs bead locks. Even the red necks. broncoboy, the body is just a proline with emaxx fender flairs (whats left of them) And as much as I like the look of the tail gate I think it'll end up staying off. Just because I'm not going to run the styrene box floor. Last edited by madhatter; 03-18-2006 at 07:34 PM. |

the back kinda reminds me of the top truck challenge ford that was blue. i thought the truck had a full bed, but it only has the sides and back. its looks more cool like this anyways. KEvIN |

I personally liked it on but oh well, he's not mine . I've got to say being a 'N' scale (1:160) model railroader for 27 yrs, This is probably my favorite scale truck on this site, no offence meant to anyone, there are some sweet scale rigs out there. I guess this one just reminds me of one I had on my layout, the realism is awsome, its a redneck beater 4x4 no question, just needs a gun rack in the back window with a 12 guage, Or did I just miss that. As I progress in this new RC hobby I plan on a future scale build cause the attention to detail and realism is what I like about model RR. For right now I just wanna get a competitive tlt and clod built. Long live Billy Bob!!!! thanks again for all the feed back guys. well heres some ''topless'' pics. just bare in mind I still have to finish the welding, and cut the spring mounts down. plus the cage and rear half the floors not done either. I gotta say I'm not real happy with the container for the esc, but I have to mud proof so........... I'm going to paint it with under coating to try and ''hide'' it but I'm still thinking about it. |
