That new setup in the rear looks great. I do have to admit though, I think the metal roof panel looks a bit better than the mesh top. Just a minor detail. |

When I started talkin to Lou about a custom truck, it was mainly just to have my new wraith build look different. Scale stuff isn't my obsession. After seeing this, I'm pretty sure this is a category of crawling that I can get lost in! This is one of the sickest trucks I've seen!! I may never get into 1:1 stuff that much but this truck motivates me to start another before my first done. Very cool!!

Yes, it should be. I may tuck the exhaust under, but it interferes with my links. Thanks for the heads up!

I can understand, trail trucks aren't your thing. What Tedo has here is scale replica of a 1:1 XRRA or WEROCK competition style rock crawler. Some XRRA and WEROCK buggies are considered moon buggies if the drive train is mid-ship or out back, like Tedo's. If the motor is out front then it's just a comp buggy. When you ask a vendor ( Lou in your case) on here for your next buggy, tell you want a scaled down competition rock buggy. But before that search around the web for pics of the buggy you like the most. YouTube

Well, since NewboySF brought up the exhaust being so close to the air intake, I reworked the rear engine a bit. I cut a new battery lid, and inlayed the intake and distributor to fall below the cover to make everything more "dimensional": Also rerouted the exhaust in between my links. It clears! I think I am happy with this set up now: |

Well, after watching the Hammers, I had to go drive this thing. Since we got dumped on with the New England snowstorm, I had to crawl under the bridge by my house... If only I brought a 40... Haha. It was surprisingly fun. |

I swapped out the 100mm ultimate shocks with 100mm Kings. I shaved the resivours off, because in my opinion they don't need them on a comp buggy. They are slightly longer then the Ultimates, which gives me about 1/8 more ride height which helps, yet the stance is still looooow. I have about 3 hours on these shocks, and so far no leaking! Fingers crossed, as they feel (and look) amazing. Also, you better believe those axial BFGs will be on this bitch immediately once they come out! Just for fun... |

Well, I am building this thing into a dual purpose rig now. I am now using a built Robinson Racing Wraith tranny instead of the low reduction HD R2 trans. Waiting on my Tekin FS, and 13.5 to come. I had holmes waterproof the Redline 13.5 for me in his shop, and I have an outerwear for the FS. I don't plan on submerging this, just want it splash proof. Also, I was bored and cut up a beat up Ground Pounder shell. I think it looks super fast (very ultra4, yet still looks like it could belong in We Rock). Now I just got to rework the interior around the trans. Driver placed in for mock-up: |

Well since I sold my 1.9 ultra4 to focus on one rig, I thought this needed some updating. - ordered a Tekin 13.5 from Holmes and had them waterproof it. - installed Robinson gears in the trans - traded for a MMP, which I sprayed down with Never Wet. We will see how this goes. Basically I just want to not be paranoid about splashing, will probably never submerge this, but then again, who knows... Had to make a new tray for my esc: Then, I still wanted to use my driver because he is actually perfect scale, so had to make a new interior. I just used .06 lexan and a vice. Nothing too fancy. It works. Had to do some major trimming of my seat, and also had to "remove" the driver's right leg to get him flush with the trans: |
