So Saturday I was conned by a Pixie to work on this:

Which left my shop like this:

Crazy what happens when you have 4 guys working on way to many rigs. Thats not even 1/3 of the shop.

Then today I spent majority of the day in an office signing papers for a house.

Signing papers for a house...Congrats! I'd rather french kiss a possum than go through a mortgage process again. One of my closings was delayed 2 days because the paperwork was off by 50 cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a 400k house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks - 400k, I am deff not that baller. We were renting, so we just swapped over to a small place for the girls and me. I can finally do the garage how it should be done and find me a shop dog to go with it.

Owning your own house is all that matters. A Place of your own! Interest rates are great right now, and if you play your cards right, you'll start building equity. Investing in your own future instead of your landlord's. Congrats again. Post up when you get your new man cave all warm and full of fumes!

Congrats on the house. Great to own.

We still have our home is Vegas....and have yet to get a second one here in UT. Tough to go from owning to renting.

Thanks guys - the house is something I have wanted todo for years but Uncle Sam has never made it easy. Until recent I have always been gone more than home - new changes have me not only home for awhile, but i could bet a months mortgage I won't be moving for quite a few years.

Sprinkler head froze and pop! - Foam to the rafters. it was only storage, and they were lucky to only have one piece of equipment get damaged. But it was funny to watch people scramble to figure it all out.

I should have photos up tonight or tomorrow in the am. Traditional shock hoops looked huge so I went with the same style as my 1:1 TJ, to bad the first set came out like crap
Oh well - we shall see how today goes....

Never a dull moment in the Southern Monkey garage....

Scale welds anyone?

Thats for Diesel Fuels wraith chassis - Check it out to see the rest...

on to the monkey.......
Jrocka wanted close ups of the drop skid plate.

Simple and to the point

I knew my panhard bar was going to need to tuck into the frame - so I notched it a tiny bit.

I really wanted a clean panhard mount - so I just copied an Artec mount

I just need to box it...

Now this is a wife, bolting a shafty together for me......

Welded on some stubs for the shock hoop mounts.

Made some shock hoops - nice and simple

And the front end is a roller...... finally.

Started cutting out the boatside mounts. Again - simple and to the point.

Even got to weld up some scale goodies for the Team..

And then it was dinner time and its meat loaf night...... I'm not missing meatloaf night

Thanks! I am thinking I will need some wraps for the outside of this thing. We will see how the body mounts turn out.

Ha! yeah - I got lucky, this country gurl likes to play as much as me. 1:1s to RCs and Guns, she will come out and play with the best of em.

I try - I try. We have a few ideas for the new shop - think time lapse......
Just don't expect any song and dance numbers

Sorry some of these photos are so dark and fuzzy guys - The new shop will also have ALOT more lighting. Once all the fab work is done I will break out the good camera.

Ride height - front of the skid has 2 5/8in under it.

It could change a small bit from tuning and the backend isn't set yet. Its easy to raise it, but if you don't plan ahead its not always easy to lower it.

Thanks Guys - shes getting there.

I am not too happy with how the front end is coming together. I will play with it more tonight and tomorrow and get some photos up. I really want the Ballistic skull grill. An alternative would be a hood and no fenders like this, but I feel like its cheating.
