| Baja trophy truck build
Here's my solid axle trophy truck. I built this starting in September/October and it has gone through a couple phases, and this is the most recent. Someday I want to do it with a tube chassis. Slash 2wd tranny, shortened e revo driveshaft, wraith rear axle, rustler front end, pretty much everything else besides electronics is custom. Sent from miPhone using Tapatalk |

hye man, nice idea here, would do a couple things though. 1 try to get the COG lower. all that weight up high will make it realy hard to control. 2. get some sort of body to base all your build schemes from.m |

| Baja trophy truck build Yeah it is I was walking back on a fire road with a dead battery (surprise lol) and stopped about 7 feet short of this guy. Probably the largest snake I've seen in the wild before. At least three feet long, and about the same size or larger than my wrist! yeah thanks for the ideas. I didn't measure everything out and look at my design enough really, so the spare tires and rear of the chassis sit kind of high. My next version (hopefully this summer) will be lower, among many other improvements. I actually have some sort of losi short course body I've been basing this off of, but I think I lost my proline body screw thingies and it's old and beat up anyways. Soon I want to get a proline Chevy 1500 body. It would look awesome! Last edited by Seanycool; 06-04-2014 at 07:56 AM. | |

Wow, this is something totally different than I have seen before, I like it How would the fitment of a shortcourse body work for that? I know they are a little bigger than a typical crawler/truck body, but might work out nicely for this project. |

Did some modeling for how the new chassis is going to be out of macenite. It works way better than cardboard haha but still really easy to cut through. It's still a little bit wide, I'm gonna work on that. Last edited by Seanycool; 06-13-2014 at 02:18 PM. |

Here's a sketch of the design I made in Google Sketchul today. There's actually a lot of stuff you can do on that program! Tomorrow I'll finish the vertical plates as well as smaller details like the spare tires and electronics and mud guards. [Insert clever signature here] |

A ton has been done since the last update lol so I'll sum it up quickly. I made my new chassis with wider vertical plates so I could lay down my slash transmission and therefore point my driveshaft straight. I got my HR bypass shocks today and installed them. It took a little work to get them figured out and put in, but I was able to thankfully. For now the only oil I have in them is a tiny amount just to lubricate the piston. I might put in some more in the future but I don't have a light enough viscosity right now. I also picked up some steel sheet metal for some mudguards I'll be making tomorrow. That's all for now guys! |

Ok so a lot has been done since the last update. Wrapped most of the chassis and the trailing arms with carbon fiber vinyl and it looks pretty good! Also made a mudguard for one side, but I can't do the other side because I'm kinda out of screws lol. This think takes sooooo many screws!! I also got some rear sway bars worked out, though I think it's too stiff. Using some axial wraith sway bar arms and everything else is pretty much custom. I got the battery mounted too, luckily I was able to mount it lower than I originally planned, I just had to do a small amount of cutting to fit. I will hopefully be able to take it out to drive soon, I'm just waiting on my scte diff from cyconxc cuz he welded the outdrive piece on for me. Can't wait to get going!!! Thanks a lot man! I appreciate the compliments! I think it looks good too and it's definitely taken a lot of work, but there's only so much that can be said online. When someone actually builds one of these, they begin to see all the tiny little errors in their work and the truck doesn't seem as perfect to them as others do. Thanks!
