| New SCX10 have a question
So I recently bought an SCX10 on Craigslist and it came with everything but the body. Being a real Jeeper and off roader I purchased the Axial 2012 Jeep Rubicon body. My question is my SCX10 came with 2.2 tires and wheels, will the body fit without a lift or any additional mods? I don't mind getting 1.9s but I love the look of the 2.2s. Thanks

depends on the size of the 2.2 tires... what are they? most likely you will need to raise the body or trim it.. I had 2.2 proline hammers on mine and only needed to raise the body a small amount...

I would imagine you will experience some type of rubbing as I remember the ripsaws being a tad tall for the Jk body. Maybe without the fenders you won't have rubbing...

looks like the driveshafts are at a very sharp angle due to the height caused by the longer shocks...the ripsaws are too talland will rub..to get them to work will raise your CG alot... if it were me, I would go back to a tall 1.9 (4.75) and stock length shocks. The CG will lower and the driveshafts will not be such a sharp angle which will help with keeping the screws in it.. |

You'll have to lift the body. I have 2.2 ripsaws on mine with traxxas big bore XL shocks. I ended up removing the fenders and trimming the body. In hindsight I should have purchased a lift kit. Not sure if wheel wideners have been installed but those were needed to clear the shock towers when full flex.

Well I got the body today and it fits, haven't taken it outside yet and wont be able to till the weekend. I won't know if I have clearance issues till I get it off road. I don't want to do the lift cause it actually came with one and that was causing all my drivetrain issues, if anything I'll go down to 1.9s. Some quick pics I took. |

its sitting too high, the rear wheelbase is off, you need to put the 1.9 tires and wheels on it, lower it back down to more of a stock height and adjust the wheelbase so the front and rear tires fit in the wheel wells like they should...

Well I took it out and loved the way it performed with the 2.2s on it. Just want it to look more natural, thinking of adding 20mm wheel spacers to push the tires out more as they sit inwards to much. Didn't use the lift just the taller shocks. Any other suggestions to make it look better with 2.2s ? I've herd people using the axles from the wrath. Open to any suggestions. I bought a set of 1.9s but there just so tiny, coming from the Jeep community I like big tires on my rig , kinda like a JKU on 40's
