Default Fr8cture's Toyzuki C3

I've never been much of a 2.2 guy but when Ben released this chassis I decided to build one. Here is a run down of the parts.

-Toyzuki V3 chassis kit
-SSD Diamond axle housings
-Dlux textured G10 U4 trusses
-Dlux V2 Knuckles CF upper Arm/Aluminum center and lower arms
-Dravtech SMW 15° link mounts
-Vanquish scale knuckles
-Vanquish scale C-Hubs
-Vanquish steering links
-Vanquish knuckle bushings
-Vanquish servo clamps
-Vanquish aluminum SLW brake rotors
-Vanquish VXDs F/R
-Vanquish rear bumper mount
-Axial HD stock/underdrive
-Performance 3D solution t-case cover, front tray and rear cross brace
-SSD transmission gears
-Holmes Hobbies one piece extended trans output
-Scaler Fab Comp series front bumper
-Kyosho Velvet shocks
-BottomsUpRc Hawk 2.2 beadlocks
-Pitbull 2.2 Rock Beast XORs
-Crawler Innovations 6.5 soft/med foams
-Titanium links by Nerby149
-MIP HD Driveline Driveshafts
-SDI driveshaft for top shaft

Electronics
-Tekin FXR
-Team Brood V2 Custom
-Protek 170tbl
-Protek 370tbl
-Spektrum SR410
-Castle 2.0 BEC 15a
-Gearhead RX bypass x2

Here is some progress pics.

Assembled front axle and dravtech shocks. Outside picture to really show off the textured G10.

Simple mock up with all thread links. I used stock wraith length lowers.

As you can see here I am doing a 4 Link and axle mounted servo with the front motor mount. This is the first mock up proving it will work. The link was bent straightened and rebent multiple times by hand so it doesn't look the greatest.

Installation of the transfer case. I used the one from my V1 in a few pics while waiting for my new one. As you can see I had to modify the skid to fit it. Ben said he was gonna fix this. I also had to lay the skid on its side so the top shaft doesn't hit the motor. It is a very tight fit with a SDI shaft. I think it's the only shaft that will work with this setup unless Ben figures something else out. I am the first person to test this setup. I used SSD transmission gears, Holmes Hobbies single piece extended output and Performance 3D Solutions gear cover.

I got a few servo horns from Air Wild for this project recommend by Dlux it sets up the steering geometry well and gives me as much frame clearance as possible. (I am gonna have to clearance the frame some)

Here is the wheel and tire setup. BottomsUpRc 2.2 Hawk wheels in orange/gunmetal, SuperShafty Brass bearing rotors, Pitbull 2.2 Rock Beast XORs, Crawler Innovations 5.5 soft/med foams.

I have a body on it right now unsure if I'm gonna keep it. You'll see when I update the thread to that point.

You like your orange, huh? Those orange BURC wheels are sick! And this build is going to be bad ass. Hopefully you post video when you're finished.

You know depending on how much you need to clearance th frame you could just limit your shocks that much. Looks like you have more than enough travel in the front. Just a thought

Yeah it clears when flexing its just under compression. Not sure how I would only limit it under compression. Maybe some sort of bump stop in the center of the axle.

Here is a little update. I had Nerby (149 rc worx) build me some titanium links. He did the front and rear lowera/uppers. They turned out great he does good work. Also as you can see I ordered the new MIP HD Driveline shafts for the TRX-4. Luckily they fit my rig perfectly. Replacing the SSD I originally planned to use. I mounted up my wheels and tires along with a new SSD front bumper which I'm thinking about replacing with a Scaler Fab pro series bumper.

That's it for now.

Front links look great! No worries about them twisting around at all? I've had mixed experiences with shaped links.

I've never had an issue with links twisting before

Another update. I got a package from brood today. My V2 custom motor. I asked Eddie to find me a orange sticker for the can and he pulled through with this cool old school sticker.

Specs:
V2 End bell and can
sprint edge brushes
Hard MR springs
Type R Flat Wire
7.5mm comm armature
ground polished and dyed
drill balance

Mounted in the chassis.

There is much more top shaft clearance than I had with the ROC412.

Here is the body I picked up for it. I may or may not keep this body. I haven't decided. I also picked up a SSD bumper that will probably end up on a different project.

I had to clearance the bed for the shock hoops. I may have a friend dovetail and bob this bed for me. I think it needs it.

Is this the same thing as an axial crawler?

I love all the orange. Only true diehards decorate their crawlers for Halloween.

Nice car. How fast does it go?

I could keep going all night! BD

Very nice build! Those XORs look nice and wide and I think pair that body great for a C3 build. Don't think I've seen a dovetailed LC70 yet.

What's your WB at?

I can't get over how bad ass this thing looks. I love the stance. I personally think dovetailing it will ruin the look. I also don't think it's needed for performance since the tires stick out so far beyond the body.

What color are you going to paint it? Orange?

I'm running rear steer though.

Gunmetal I think.

Good point. I still think dovetailing will kill the look, but that's a personal preference. It's rare, IMO, that dovetailing looks good.

Gunmetal would be sick with the orange accents!
