Is it an optical illusion, or are your lower links bent?

B4wheeler 12-04-2008 07:50 AM

Yes they are bent.. that is the way they are made.....Helps with brakeover angles...

Hank has the high clerance rear links. I think it is the pic that makes them look bent.

I have been working on a indoor course for Hank to tune his truck. I have a ramp with some grip tape that I can set at different angles. I decided to try some different lids to see which one climbed the best.

I would have bet money that the grapler body would have made a bigger difference. I also would have thought that the Scout would have done worse.

It was fun bashing around with the Scout.:badger:

why is Hank always holding his left hand like that...I thought he was right handed:mrgreen:

K Riccardi 12-11-2008 06:52 PM

He is just so happy to be able to drive his truck that he can't help him self.

hank is the poop at wheeling

K Riccardi 12-12-2008 11:14 AM

Hank does the best with what he has avalable. His biggest problem is his right foot. It's either on or off.

K Riccardi 12-15-2008 05:27 AM

Hank is getting a little lonely. How about some feed back?:)

K Riccardi 12-15-2008 05:40 AM

Hank did some work on the shocks. He runs a 50/50 setup on the shocks.

This is all the components laid out.

Small spring on shaft first.

Shaft installed

Fill the shock with the oil of your choice (Hank likes 90w out of the garage). Install the large spring and put the cap back on.

No Hank has not tryed that. There was a big inprovement going to the 90w. Hank and I agree that no oil would be, not so good.

What kind of improvement did you notice? I'm debating if I want to mess with oil in the shocks when I build mine. The 90w you run, is it gear lube?

K Riccardi 12-15-2008 07:34 PM

The thicker the oil the slower the suspension moves. With all the weight on the front of the truck the 30w was not enough to control the suspension movement.

Yes gear lube.

Hank got a early Christmas present. What do you think?
