Went to a GTG today. Truck ran great until Hank blew apart a shock and the rear dig started to slip. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc003.jpg I have not had much time to help Hank as I have been working on his buddy Chip's 71 Blazer. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-scale-rigs/150095-71-blazer-trail-rig.html |

LMAO!!! THATS FREAKING HILARIOIUS! |
The dig on Hanks truck was starting to slip so we decided to take the trans apart to see what was going on. This is what we found. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc009.jpg If you look close you can see that the rear trans output bolt heads pulled threw the output. You can also see the midle gear is stripped. The striped gear hapened after I put the trans back together the first time after cleaning up the dig coupler. I should have fixed it right the first time and I dont think the gear would have striped. On a side not when I put the dig together the first time I think I over torqued the bolts holding the too halfs together. Hank pulled the gear he needed out of Chips Blazer. That still left the problem with the dig. I emailed DNA and they are sending out new parts. They were great to deel with."thumbsup" I am not sure how long it will take to get the new padts so I decided to redrill the outdrive so I could bolt it back together. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc010.jpg I drilled out the outdrive for the bolts and then used a dull 1/8 drill bit to make the counter bore to recess the bolt heads. I used a dull bit as to not cut right threw the outdrive. 8) I could not believe how much trash was in the case and stuck in the gears. If you ever have trouble with your trans make sure you clean it up very well.:-( |
I took some pix of were I had to grind the Dig case to clear the lower link. http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc011.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc012.jpg http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r...wler/rc013.jpg |
Hank borrowed a CC link from youngblood to program his BEC and has had it at 6.5 volts for 4 or 5 battery packs. He needs to give it back soon so we are going to run it at 7.0 volts and see how it does. He has the BEC so it is only powering the steering servo (Hitec HS5955TG) Seems good so far YMMV.;-) |
Hey what happend to Hank. Havent seen him in a awile. had to find him on page 10 !!! maybe hank found a Woman???? |
