Looks like a nice build I do have one question I am building one also and when I put my chassis together following the directions with the kit. It has you mount the transmission opposite of what yours is. In the direction when they show you from front you see the spur gear. Did they have a misprint in the directions because I am certain when stripped down my AX to build this it was the other way around.

Later,
Rusty

Did your rear lockouts come with set screws? Mine did not...

Looking like a solid foundation for sure though.

Few updates from today.

Rear suspension finished. Starting with Losi white springs. The shocks are from a Jammin CRT .5. Still need to spend some time and research some 1/8th scale shocks.

Front is finished. Shocks are 3racing. Again they are temporary.

Also started on the servo mounts. Trying to use what I had I cut the Axial top plate and bent the side of it to tilt the servo. The lower bracket is from 1/8" aluminum for now.

Looks like the Nor Cal series is getting VERY competitive
Thanks Ben! Nor-Cal has always been competitive... Unless badger shows up

Hey Rusty, I built the chassis without taking note to the direction of the tranny in the instructions. It wont matter which way you run it, I am so used to running the tranny this direction thats the way it went together I will look into the directions for ya.

Yeah I am pretty sure they were included. The axle C's also had them.

I have my chassis and tranny flipped lol. Love this chassis it slides over everything, the only thing is the motor plate gets hung up occasionally.

The only reason to turn the chassis around is the holes for the transmission are not centered. You can see the offset easier looking at the closed side of the chassis. I'm running the SWX skid on my SW3 chassis the same direction you currently have it and haven't had it cause any issues but the weight is shifted back a little more in the chassis.

I'm thinking of bringing my SWX out to the next NorCal event. I should have things set up the way I want by then.

Cool I hope you can make it out!

Another reason for the tranny being that direction is due to the dig setup I am looking into running and the space available. Still not sure until I start fabricating some parts.

Finals are done! I will never take 21 units again Just no time for RCC Builds, it was horrible

So this weekend I made some progress on my most important build. Its first comp will be January 4th so I hope to get it running today to start testing/tuning.

BTA is finished. Made my own servo mount and tie rod. Trimmed some material off the Axial knuckles to get full steering.

Also dialed in the springs/shocks on the bench, I hope my initial guess is close.

Installed the Axial BC 4 link plate (AX30507) on the rear and the upper link plate to mount the receiver up front (AX30497). Soon to be a Futaba RX once the 4PK arrives

Next was tires and wheels.

Front:
Mayhem DP's with full weights (no live weight)
Mayhem Eng PC'd Green solid rings
Pro-Line Chisel G8's. Still trying different foams but a full masher 2000 foam fills good! Pro-Lines 2 stage foam will be here soon for some more testing.

Rear:
Pro-Line 8-shooter Bead Loc + 3 oz.
Pro-Line Chisel G8, Masher 2000 foam.

Can you say Steering? Sheesh! I need to make some adjustment to the front shock locations, with all this steering and the size of the tires it rubs. And rubs really hard when flexing. But I love it!

Trimmed the body. This rig is getting a fresh Pro-Line C10 and a Axial body. Just feel like painting

Current stance

Looks hot Brandon.

For foams in my Chisels, I'm running slightly trimmed stock Losi foams out back and a home made 2 stage foam very similar to what will come stock from PL for the Chisels out front. Ran them yesterday and they seemed to work awesome.

Any ideas for your dig yet?

Thanks Brad!

Yeah I can tell these tires work great! With almost zero practice time on them I was able to do really well at the last Nor-Cal comp running them. Cant wait to start playing with foam setups, thanks for the tip on the rear losi foams. Might try that too.

Dig is in the works

Nice looking rig The finish on the chassis is just amazing. I was thinking about a SWX myself. The BTA steering is slick
