Yeah, unless you wanted to go to a 3s Lipo, that ESC sounds just as good as a Sidewinder.

I picked it up for $240, but I see they jacked the price up to $310. I guess I nabbed it on a Christmas special or something.

There are a couple of other guys on this thread that have the same kit. I'd PM them to see where they got theirs.

i'm on the waiting list at CKRC....if ANYONE can match their price...i'd buy today.

but i wonder if the AE2 will handle 3s..........i mean i knwo it'll have a 2s cutoff, but if you're careful it'd be liek running a 3s on the ae1.

and....i wondering if you could update the firmware to the sidewinder firmware to have a 3s cutoff?? anyone tried?

I showed the screenie... there's no other firmware to update to. Unless you can force an upload of different firmware, that's it.

Looks like initial retail pricing is $74, but when you can get a Sidewinder for $70, I assume the price will drop once they are more available.

They had better, or they will never sell any of these aftermarket.. Unless someone is extremely OCD about running completely stock. I don't believe ever is the case in crawling, though. I know it can be in SC racing...

My friend was looking at buying this for his home-brew, but when the price finally showed up on Tower, he thought differently. I DO hope it goes down, for AXIAL's sake.

Especially with the Sidewinder SV2 being released in February, which so far is retail for $70.

I do think it is nice for a company like Castle to co-develop an ESC with Axial, and for being an esc that comes with a ready to crawl vehicle, that's a really great thing.

I just bought a rtc scorpion as a Christmas gift for my son and it has all new electronics. We are just figuring out how everything works on it now. I really like the adjustable drag brake on the the TX.
