Another thing that I found.....these new Losi black springs rust like CRAZY! I assume from running this truck down at the beach, but I have never seen a spring do that before. I pulled them and cleaned them off with some WD40...that should prevent any more rust on them.

Looking good Jeremy, bring that rusty rig to Arizona with ya.

Are we going to be running a sport class there? BTW, it's not rusty any longer...

I would if I had to. Luckily for me I'm limited to semi-local events, and neither club has a dedicated sportsman class.

I've been having a lot of fun driving this truck lately. Here are a few pics of it on a local course that was recently constructed...

I am still amazed at how well this short bus works. It was pulling some nice lines all day long.

I have a few upgrades coming for this truck soon and then I'll get started practicing with it in preparation for ECC.

Here are the bling upgrades:

My first set of VP wheels....I found them for a good deal in the for sale section here (with delrin out rings) so I figured, why not.

I also ditched my hackjob knuckle weights.

I put this truck on the scale this evening and it tops off at 5lbs 0.8oz.....not too shabby since I wasnt really trying to keep the weight down.

We'll see how it drives tomorrow...

Very nice! You already place that order with McMaster? Cause you need more plates for those weights!

Not yet. I am gonna see how this weight setup does. Those weights are just about how much my homemade weights came in at....

I took this truck to my local test spot to run through a few packs after these changes....and I must say, I am VERY impressed with this setup. It was pulling lines that my berg occasionally struggles with. The only place where it is lacking is sharp ledges....it simply doesnt have the belly clearance.

Anyway, here are some progression shots of the lines I am talking about.

A vertical notch:

And from the other side (there's quite an undercut here):

And bridging the gap between the two rocks:

IMO, there is NO WAY that these climbs would have been made had I not shaved the sidewalls of these tires. This truck is driving well and it is pretty damn fun to drive!
