| Little BuckI's First Sportsman Build
I recently sold off all my 1.9 stuff, and convinced My 5 yr old it was time to part with his too.I was getting tired of having to fix his seemingly everytime he ran it. I had been letting him run my 2.2 and Sportsman rigs around at our comps, and had noticed he has gotten very good at driving in a controlled manner. So,I told him we would sell his 1.9 and build him a 2.2 that would be more Durable and Bigger. He was all in when I told him that. We sold the 1.9 and ordered an Axial AX10 RTC. I got him the newest one with the 2.4ghz and AE-2 ESC. Then I contacted my Buddy Don at BWD and ordered some goodies for it. Heres the Spec list so far. Axial AX10 RTC BWD SSS-R Chassis wuth Dub Topper BWD No Dig Motor Plate BWD Trans mount electronics Tray BWD Motor Savr I plan to upgrade alot of pieces later on. I picked the SSS-R with the topper because I liked the low line looks of it,and I like the torsion, because that eliminates shock repairs. I am also thinking the Torsion will "Float" more and help keep him from getting sucked into holes. We shall see if it works out that way. Heres some pics as it sits now. |

Very nice, I'm about to start building my first BWD equipped rig (XR Mantis). Is that the Mantis Topper your using or does that topper work for a few of their chassis.

Thanks, Yeah I really like taking him to the Comps. We like hanging out like that. Most of our comps are over an hour away,so we make a day of it. The 2yr old has saID he wants to go to the comp, but he needs to get a little older before he can go. | |

Well he decided that he likes a body better than the Bodiless Topper. Since he is the boss on this rig,I took the topper off and installed the body. The side braces that come with the chassis have countersunk holes for the body posts. They are perfectly spaced and the stock body mounted up with no mods. I will be getting him some better wheels and tires, but he can get wheel time as is for now. I also have a second round of upgrades to install soon to. I figure he can wear out the stock stuff first. |

Your Dub looks great and your sons stock looking ax10 as per the build above will be a little decieveing. A great Sleeper rig Even better if he pulls a gr8 drive in it and beats more custom looking rigs |
