Need some help with these new plastic wheels. I live in PA and our comps begin and end in the 30 - 40 degree range. I have a tendancy to break plactic parts at this temp. Does anyone have experience with the DE Racing wheels in the freezing cold. Just trying to figure out if I can go plastic for my winter tires as well as the summer ones.

Added in my foams to the plastic wheels. So far they are looking pretty promising. The overall weight is exactly the same as the CF ones. The front wheels are donors from the XR until I get the remainder of the plastic wheels in.

Got my Jconcepts Ford Raptor body trimmed up. Next step is to figure out the mounts. I have a few different options, just not sure which one to go with.

Can't wait to see what you come up with for paint.

Going to try a Wolverine picture glued to the body with a yellow and grey theme. Need to find a comic book store.

I got the body mounted up. I think I am going to like this one. THe overall weight should be right around 4.27 lbs. That is pretty much where I was trying to get to, weight wise.

Here is the picture I plan on using. Started glueing this morning, but I hope to have some good progress over the weekend. Might even get some paint slung on the body.

I got the picture glued into the body today. Hoping to get the paint tomorrow. I was thinking yellow, with grey stripe down the center and maybe on the sides.

Spent a good amount of time taping up for the light grey color.

I got the rear tire and my paint, so yesterday was very productive. I am by no means a painter, so I feel pretty good with the results. The hobby store didn't have any good greys in stock, so I went with blue. I still think it looks good. It's just not as understated as I was shooting for. Still need to clap the rear tires. After that it is just electronics and some minor tweaks here and there.

Great looking rig. I like it with the blue. And the chassis looks killer as well. Hope I never have to park my ghetto crawler next to yours.

I forgot to add my mandatory flex shots earlier.

I took a estimate of the ESC weight and set everything on the scale. It looks like I will be just a tad over 4 lbs for my sporty. This is a lot better than I expected. I am sure I can get it under 4 if I tweak a few things.

Nice job there, I purchased the same DE racing wheel as well and like it better than the LOSI one, the DE one has 6 stiffeners so the screw can be placed in between them... What wide hub are you using front and back?

I am using 350s in the rear and 475s in the front. It gives me about the same width as my XR10. I agree the DE Racing wheels work great. CF was cool, but too expensive and messy to deal with.

I got my MMP in and stripped off all the crap once I made sure it would work. The board was liquid taped and the Rx smashed on top. It was all hard wired and placed on the ESC plate I made.

I also trimmed some weight off the skid plate.

Really sweet build! I'm just wonder if you machined out the ribs on the inside of the wheels or just left them there? The ones where the hub sits.
