Rig looks good Jeremy.
The shafty class sure seems to have people excited about the sport again.

I'm Looking forward to seeing it run in march.
thanks.
and you are quite correct. you can also use the traxxas short length shock shafts with egressor bodies to achieve the same overall length.

my shocks are actually 3.125"eye to eye with a med size axial shock rod end. the belly sits at @ 3.125" fully drooped and exactly 2" fully compressed.

it does this with with only about a 2* pinion angle (and as equally important castor) change throughout the cycle.
it also has very minimal axle steer which keeps the vehicle tracking correctly and also helps to settle the vehicle while trailing a high side rear tire.

the reason i shortened the bodies was to gain down travel..

the usable travel is now well within the parameters of my 4 link geo regardless of droop or compression.

i also dont need to limit my shocks any longer because they are actually only able to "stroke" what is needed (instead of limiting internally and externally)

those are the reasons i went this route but a properly limited 3.5" shock will give you very similar results.

I figured that's why you shortened the bodies.

The one downfall to an internally limited 3.5" shock would be the lack of compression due to the longer body IMO.

Maybe I missed it, but what is the belly clearance at ride?

I think the traxxas short shafts with EGRESSor shock bodies are still 3.5" unless I'm using the wrong shafts. I'm using the ones from he 2660 setand still measuired out to 3.5" for some reason. could be the rod ends i usede though.

For most, shortening the shock body isn't the problem, it's finding the right length shaft. i have spent some time at the LHS rying o find an ot of the bag 3" shock but have had no luck.

And 3" losi's are expensoive to build.

that's why the shock arms are adjustable...
The chassis was designed around a standard 3.5" shock, then given adjustability.

And tsk,
I think the idea with the short shaft is you shorten the body to accommodate it..Also the egressed bodied shocks are not really budget by any means.

Belly at ride is 2.8-2.9 ish

Aren't the shock arms adjustable?

Not teasing anyone..

This will be a production chassis but it will not be budget by any means.. There are plenty of those already.

The timeframe for release is still undetermined.

My team drivers and trusted acquaintances will get the first chassis made to give honest feed back and help to show you guys different build perspectives..

The quick and skinny on the motor...

.040 Conflux can
FB12 Magnets
Type HHK-T 30t arm, ground polished dyed....epoxy balanced.
Standup Brushes with Super stiff springs.
Endbell features lightweight spring posts, screws, and heatsink elimination screws along with the new lightweight alloy timing ring.

Some other tricks and such...
