| Axial AX10 Scorpion Rookie build
To start off, I bought the crawler for $85 running with a few issues. After a weekend of crawling and working on it every 20 minutes I took it home and tore it down. It has the Novak Brushless Crawler motor, Savox 250oz servo(another ordered for rear). I have a lot of parts ordered to get it back together, just getting a little at a time. Will post pics as soon as I figure out how on my phone. |

Welcome to the board. Are you planning to comp this rig? Rear steer isn't allowed in the sportsman class. If it's for fun, awesome. If you plan to comp it, better get used to driving it without rear steer. Looking forward to some pics. |

Have my rear steer servo, 6ch transmitter, alloy horns and lipos ordered. If any of you guys have a 1/10 body that'll work on my truck, let me know.

Good start. You need to get a bit more ground clearance to make that thing crawl. The way it sits you'll get high centered a lot.

What he means is you run the chance of high centering the center of your chassis on climb overs, thats the challenge to get a lcg but good clearance, ultimately depends on where you run and what works for you. I like it so far and I say run with it |

High centered isn't the height of the center. It means hung up on the center skid. If your scx10 shocks aren't limited internally, you'll need to drill some holes in the chassis to raise the chassis a bit. 2-3/4" ride height is a decent start. Roughly aim for your lower links to sit flat, or level. Slightly higher in the rear to help you "break over" obstacles. Some run higher, some lower. It depends on many factors where you end up. |

I see what your saying now, I need more height at my center or ill bottom out on rocks. Also, I don't have a very good steering caused by my links hitting the chunk. What's the best solution?

Definitely low but depending on the type of terrain you crawl it could work. I would raise it a bit though

Looks good! For sure get that belly up a little and on the skid plate the center most bolt holes can be used to hold the skid to the chassis sides leaving the front and rear most holes as a place to mount the lower control arms on the inside of the chassis sides. Will have to grind the corners off a little on the skid plate to clear a spot for the controls arms. But will for sure stop you from getting hung up as much. A ton of ways to tweak the stock chassis for better performance, just takes some research. Don't forget to spend plenty of time on the rocks testing. =)
