Default Greenhorn SuDu One

I debated whether or not to start this thread but I’ll go ahead to get feedback from the veterans.

I bought an Axial AX10 used for a good price and it needs work to get comp ready. Played with it for a couple weeks and now its time to build something.

Been searching and reading a lot. Lots of help and info here. Also Chris_the_battery_man has been a huge help with answering many PM’s.

I really liked the NCD SuDU One chassis and the product Tomy produces. So I ordered one. It’s one its way from Finland. Also got other parts on the way.

I want to finish in the next couple weeks so I can compete with the SCRCC guys on Jan 25.

Here’s a pic of the AX10 I bought. Won’t use much of it. Probably just the axle housings and tranny for now.

My son and I modified the Big Bore shocks. Milled them down on the dremel and shined them up. Should have weighed them before and after. They seem a bit lighter.

Have them setup with pink springs for now.

If you don't mind me asking, how much have you spent so far/what's your guestimate on how much it'll add up to?
Sounds very cool AND pricey

It will be over 1k.

Keep in mind, I'm starting from scratch including radio. I could have used my old FM Artronics but decided to up to the 2.4ghz.

All my hobbies seem to be expensive. Top of the list would be the wife.

A hobby wife...interesting concept.

One more item you can add to your list. Contact JeepnDoug for some spring cups for your BigBores or DLux for his BB preload collars. No worries about cups falling off and springs coming loose.

Will add to a future list. Trying to get this thing rolling as fast as I can. I know I'll be adding/modifying in the future.

Thanks

Received quite a few parts today.
Best was the SuDu One chassis came in. Craftsmanship is A1.

Vanquish Lockouts, C-Hubs, and Knucles

Miscellaneous Axial parts

Aluminum balls

Should get me going. Traveling tomorrow so probably Wednesday/Thursday I'll work on it.

Had a chance to slip a way to the basement at my brothers. Managed to get the chassis and the links put together.

I swapped out the hardware for aluminum stuff. Couldn't fine button heads in 25mm so used regular cap heads. Will look for some and swap out.

Waiting on tubes from Chris. Hopefully they'll be in soon so I can mod the axles.

Also set the tranny and motor in to see how it fits. Hopefully I can get a tranny from Tomy at NCD.

Not the motor I’m gonna use, just for test fit.

Need my axles parts to come in so I can add some width and increase the steering angle.

Do these pics look huge on anyone's screen?

Sometimes they are huge on my iPad and if I reload them they go back to normal. Just wondering

Tried to resize thru BB code but doesn't work on this board.

Big thanks to Haastnooit, Tomy, ZZR 1100 Racer, Oz Bruiser, and the others for their SuDu One write ups. It has helped a lot.

Yes, the pictures are huge.

EDIT: Just refreshed the browser and pics are good!

Your build is looking good! Good to hear you and your son are enjoying the build together.

I switched them to my photobucket account. Not sure why they do that. They are fine on my laptop just look huge on iPad/iPhone.

Messed around today with a couple things.
Trimmed down the BB spring cups where the original spring would seat.

Need to clean them up some more.

Also added a rear upper link brace.

And some spacers for the electronics tray.
