Default Deans for motor connection?

Did you switch the motor connection to a deans connector on the ridgecrest?

I just got mine and have done this for the battery, and was going to do it for the motor too...but wondered if what others have done?

I have a few extra deans laying around so I figured I would.

Female on the esc side?

I have set up my esc's, batteries, & motors with deans since my 1st esc.
Thank you Deans from saving me & everyone else from those CRAPPY Tamiya type connectors!
I always put males on the esc & females on batt/motor. The battery needs the short protection but I don't think it matters on a motor, I just choose that way.
I rarely am swapping motors or comping so I have all my stuff standardized with deans. That being said if I was to swap allot or comp (& possibly need a quick fix borrowed motor) I would put bullet types on the motor side because that seems the most common motor setup.

Friends don't let friends use Tamiya connectors!

Wouldn't you need short protection on the esc too...if everything is on batts plugged in, couldn't it short?

Rule #37
Battery is ALWAYS the last thing to hook up.

But yeah going with the female deans on your esc motor connection would protect from a short with a powered & not connected to a motor esc.

Yeah. I know if your connecting everything in the right order this is not likely to happen...but with kids or someone who doesn't know you can't be to safe.

I guess only the battery would likely to be swapped so I wondered if there was a "standard" way to connect the esc/motor (thinking of a aftermarket motor with deans already soldered - if that exists)

It would spin backward if the polarity was reversed...

I follow WS Deans pattern so I hope to never reverse polarity.

Red - thinnest part
