Default some noobie questions

My capra kit is on the way, i have began stacking parts and info for the build but i still have a few questions.

1. I want to run the old axial 3gear trans, i know i will need a skid and a rear drive shaft. How long of a rear shaft will i need? Will a stock scx10 shaft work?

2.What gearing (spur and pinion) should i use? I plan on using a 16turn brushed motor

3.Batteries, i know it has to be small but thats about it. Could somebody post links to batteries that will work? Preferably hardcase 2s lipo with xt60 connection

4. What are some "must have" mods? I made a short build list but i feel like im probably missing alot, i dont plan on going to comps but i want the truck to be fun and capable.

Thats it for now, thank you for any and all help. If this has been covered in other threads i apologize and hope that you could steer me in the right direction.

I just finished putting a VP 3gear with dig in my goat. I’ll get you the details ASAP. Not bad at all, I bought a stock skid, filled with epoxy and re mounted 3gear. I’ll get you pics and info if your interested

Panther is doing the 3 gear trans with dig conversion as well. He's got a thread going in the Capra forum.

In my configuration I had to run a short motor, I’m running a Holmes Hobbies PP stubby. You must cut some of rear bulkhead to clear dig. Structurally I haven’t noticed it to be a problem. I’m currently running 56 spur and 15 pinion. I cold go taller but works fine and I had the gears in my drawer.
