I am dyin' for some color choice in the beadlock rings - don't want to do the uber-popular blue...

Gimme basic black, and I'll jump on 'em.

As it is, looks like I'll have to go with Gearhead RC, even though my Bomber upgrade plans include almost everything else SSD makes!

Heck - wonder if they'll do a special order for a little extra.

Just finished my bomber kit and took it out for a quick spin.. I have these wheels and have lost several screws out of the delrin in just a few minutes. Luckily it came with spares, how the heck are you supposed to replace them. Can a person find a socket that small? And I guess I ought to blue loctite the snot out of them?

Anyone else have this problem? Better suggestions or solutions?

On SSD site, 'Note: Scale hex bolts may need to be tightened before use.'

They also sell the tool to tighten them and more hardware if needed.

I had to build my RC4WD with one of those adapters, 64 "scale" bolts, installed 3 times, I wanted to throw it out the window.

Wiha and other real tool companies make 2mm nut drivers. Well worth the $8 investment.

In a pinch, you can just use the head of an M3x??mm socket head cap screw. That's what I did for my first set of SSD 1.9 steelies. I finally ordered one of LURC's 2mm HD hex drivers with one of their tool handles. Very nice quality and fits the hardware snug. Blue loctite and don't over tighten, snug is plenty.

Black and blues are hot, silver and blue looks great too! Wish we could buy just the outer rings for all SSD wheels to change up the look. 1.9s yet?

Ok, ok I will get some rings made for both sizes.

Black and red?
Delrin or aluminum?

I prefer the delrin outer rings as they dont scratch up.

Black Delrin, please!

That would provide a murdered-out or military look when matched to the black Rock Racer, and a popular black/silver style for the silvers.

If you make those, my Bomber kit will be getting a complete SSD upgrade from stock - was already planning on decking it out with Diamond axles, truss, link set, new servo horn, knuckles, and C-hubs.

Not all of us like blue, I'm getting rid of every bit of it...

I like both the black centers with blue delrin and the silver centers with the blue delrin! Hard decision to make as I am now in the process of upgrading my tires and wheels on my bomber. Black centers/blue delrin with Flat Irons would look great I think!!!! Thoughts?

Get them powder coated. It's way more durable than paint.
