You need to respool your winch with some 49 strand SS cable. It will look much better.

which KO radio do you have? if you've got the ex-10, i know all too well what you mean about the manual. go to the jr site and get the manual for the z1 - same radio, better manual.

the 3rd channel isn't 3 position if you've got the ex-10 though. i spent a pretty penny on a z1 and spektrum a few months before i really got into crawling and had no need for a fully functional 3rd channel. now i think i need a 4pk or a dx3r. :?

It's the 3racing winch as stated here.

Looks great Brandon.
Most of the pics I've seen made the cage look funny to me.For some reason,it doesn't look so bad on yours.

62Ptro is right.

The Pro-Line winch in the scale accessories is just for looks.

Now its time to tackle all the little details.

First up is the hubs.

Added some black and red.

Picked up a set of the Pro-Line scale accessories for this build too. The CGR Cage provided plenty of space for them.

Sanded down the ends of the shovel and axe to look used.

I ended up using some axial rod ends with some fuel line pressed into them cut the same length. The shovel handle fit securely inside and this made for a perfect mount

Great build BTW!
Tom
Yup the axles actually come with Axial HD lockers, they are included in the kit.

Wow that does look good. I already added 30lb test to it... I think I need to try that

4PK, that extra channel is going to be worth every penny. They can both be set to 3P switches too

Thanks for posting the info on the winch.

Yeah the cage looks great in person, it grew on me quickly.

Here is what I am running for weight in the front, and the weight of the stock wheel/tire & foam combo if anyone is curious. I might be adding a bit more or finding slightly softer springs to get that last .25" of travel from the suspension. Mostly because I cut the bump stops on the shock shafts in half

Started on the wheel wells up front. Just some black styrene. I will add the rest once I get all the rock lights figured out.

Whats a scaler without lights??

I am going to use the light buckets and lenses from an old High Lift light bar. Still havent decided if I want to go with the 5mm or 10mm led. I need to see what resistors I have first.

The lenses are the perfect size for the scout decals. I will leave the black outline from the decal and glue on the light bucket and lens.

The holes in the Pro-Line Western front bumper were perfect for a 5mm led. Added some clear drying CA glue to keep them in place.

I also had the two extra light buckets from the Pro-Line lightbar kit. They will be perfect front rock lights.

Now this build is shaping up. Damn bolt-on scalers

The little touches will make your build. Now put it away and work on my junk that's sitting there
