Haha!

The doors coming off was something I just thought of after looking at countless 1:1 XJ's for exo-cage ideas. Just came to me. Your 2.2'd rig was sweet too.

Yep, alot of the scale items will be on it when you had it.
Like I said, all in mock up right now.

i would flip the trans around. it would put the spur more under the dash, and make the center console look better

Great idea.
I wasn't digging the console I started on last night either. I found a package from a trailer light wiring kit that will fit perfect over the trans. Might give that a shot too.

Flipped the trans. via e-hills4x4 suggestion.
Starting on reboxing in the trans. Mamba Max will sit on top of the scx box, so figuring out that box too. I want everything to be attached to floor, that way, i only have to remove 4 screws to pull the interior completely out.

Messing with the rear tubs. Boxed in the front and in the process of moving them forward and lowering them down a bit and making outside skirts.
Added a bit to the dash as well.

And put on the 2.2's just to see what they look like.

Yeah, I know. They came on it from RockHopperz. But a local club is probably not going run 2.2's in the scaler/TTC class. No biggie.

So, I bought a 1.9 setup and kept the 2.2 in mind when setting up wheelbase and axle width.

Working on the transmission cover and rear tubs now.

Seats will need to be trimmed to fit up closer to the trans cover. Moved the rear tubs forward and lower. Boxed in the dash.

I will need to lower the dash some, it's hitting onthe body a little right now and pushint it down. The dash is not connected to the scx receiver box yet, either.

Thanks. I haven't been able to work on this the past few days. Been wicked busy at work.

Got the floor all in and good to go. Starting on the styrene rod interior cage in a few days. And some TR bumpers and winch coming from Constantmotion

Just saw this too. But they should have molded over the top of the trans/motor etc, while they were at it.

Cool Rig! It looks mean with the 2.2's. I like the doorless version, looks like a hardcore trail rig.

Default bumpers

Got a TR front bumper and rear bumper from Constantmotion, with a winch. My winch controller was bad anyways.

The front bumper was going to be too low at the stock location. I just added another front bumper mount on top of the original mount. Used long set screws to join them together. Had to do some grinding on the top plastic mount, due to my steering servo setup. This is not the most secure way to mount the bumper but it's the perfect height. I will figure something out on how to make it more of a solid mount.
I might have to add a small skid under the front bumper to make it look a touch better.

Braced up the center of the body. More to come on this internal roll cage.

Looking good!

I had the same problem with raising my TR bumper.

I borrowed the idea from whoodie. He used delrin plastic to make small squares to lift the bumper.

I did the same thing but only had aluminum on hand. I didn't want to drill extra holes because it's not permanent, so I used zip ties.
Same idea though.

I didn't want to drill out extra holes for screws so I used zip-ties instead.
It's only temporary until I get a metal tube bumper, so no problem.
Hope this helps!
It definitely makes the bumper more stable!

Thats pretty cool. I loe taking the doors off my XJ and cruising around. Gets some looks. Not many people have seen a XJ without doors. Pro-lines got a nice set-up with theres too. I like how its a tub like the real thing. I seen they have an interior also. But it wouldnt work doorless.
