the manual tells you to 3 link the front and 4 link the rear, but in the parts bags there is a spare 4 link truss and plastic links to do the front. As with most Axial kits only the lower links and steering are aluminum and now the Icon shocks in this kit. Hope that helps some

Yes it comes with everything to 4 link in the box, & servo on axle is much better performance wise, cms is more scale tho

I have the kit and there is no second link truss in any of the parts trees. I checked and double checked. The build manual shows 3 link front , 4 rear with no other portion listed. I used a dinky rc truss to 4 link the front. Used 8-32 all thread to make upper front links because the new truss dictates custom length.

My kit version came with a spare 4 link truss.

Rear upper uses 98s on the uppers, not sure which is used with the front upper w/the 4 link mount. Cause I use the upper vanquish servo mount w/the 4link on the fronts. One thing .... When you mount the ball sockets use the ax metal ball sockets for (axa1331) , they wear in better and seem to flex better IMO. Metal on metal, verses metal on plastic, ya know.

I've had good luck running equal length upper and lower rear links. This gets the axle clocked back to get your pinion angle nice and straight (also increasing clearance), but equal front uppers/lowers will give you way too much negative caster which destroys steering performance, and aims your steering links into the ground, so the front uppers will need to be a bit shorter than the lowers unless you have a clockable c-hubs.

My kit doesn't have an extra 4 link mount either. It does however have an extra 3 link mount, although I don't know why. It does come with an extra set of upper links, just no mount.

This is strange. Why do some kits get it. I am happy with my set up but at the time I would have liked to have it so I could have used stock links. Maybe I'll give axial a call.

My kit didn't have an extra 4 link truss either. I wasn't happy with the steering setup. The servo ears hit on the frame, the end of the steering link hit on a crossmember, and then the steering link hit on the left frame rail when I removed that. If you want to stick with 4 link, remove the front crossmember, and then flip the servo and use a longer steering link. Then you'll have full clearance.

You can get the length of the links from the link set instructions.

The kit instructions on page 12 shows only x1 of the AX80043 tree with the 4-link truss and has it listed as an option part in the section that has the parts list for the 4-link conversion.

However, the RTR instructions on page 12 has a x2 for the AX80043.

My kit did not have the extra 4 link mount and it's not shown in the parts tree list in the beginning of the manual.

I found that equal length for upper and lowers in the rear clocked the axle way to far back. It can be done but does not look right IMO. The manual actually tells you to use 98 uppers and 106 lowers in the rear.

For the front, axial again provides 106 tubes for the lowers. The extra plastic front upper links axial provides are 115 eye to eye. In order to get that with stock axial aluminum tube links you would have to use 87.5 (wraith/ridgecrest) tubes with short straight ends. 98's with ends would be too long. Since my kit did not come with the truss I make 110 eye-to-eye links because the dinky truss moves the mount location of the upper links aft a bit more that the axial mount location.

You will want to upgrade to aluminum because the stock plastic links are noodles.

Axial has an aluminum link upgrade kit they want to sell everyone I guess.
Good thing I read up on this forum on how to make links. All thread works and it was good fun fabing then up, it just does not look as cool.
