| Narrowed AR60's on my JK SCX
Using the thread below I narrowed a front AR60 axle and got shorter lockouts for the rear axle so I didn't need to cut the housing. Link: Scale DANA 60's for your SCX10 I built up the front using VP scale hubs and knuckles, axial HD gears, HR locker and universals. I did the rear with HD gears, HR locker, and short lockouts: Right now my width is the same width as when I was using slash hexes and gearhead wheel widners. This is the rear bearing retainer I used to lose about 1" per side with the rear axle next to a stock scx-10 axle. I really like the steering, and the better center clearance I get with the mod. Rear and front lower links I was able to re-use. I had to make new upper links panhard and drag link. If you want photo's with different angles, just let me know. |

that is awesome. I would love to be able to do that myself. How hard was that to do? |

Very easy. I did the front axle in about an hour with a Dremel tool, a band saw would have worked much better.

I agree, but I feel its better than spending 400$ on D44's or curries, and looks better than the SCX housings. I now have more steering than I can actually use, I need to make custom links to get out of the way of the tires. | |

After seeing how John's AR60's turned out i decided to give it a shot , I really like how scale they look now. Any recommendation on what to glue them with. Oh ya if anybody got two diff bearing retainer straps i could use one set. Thanks
