| Tired of leaking shocks
Hi all, I thought I would post my most recent attempt to stop the leaking Axial shocks. I bought the aluminum shock bodies last summer and rebuilt them completely. So fast forward to today. They are losing oil slowly and it is diving me crazy. My RC10s never leaked this soon. So I sat down and opened them all up. This time I removed the black spacer and replaced it with a 3rd oring. I will give it a try and repost Scott |

I ended up buying proline scaler shocks. I've had them 6 months or so and no leaks at all

Never had set leak so soon. I'm actually looking at the 100mm shocks from Hobby King. I know they will need a complete rebuild, but hey that's half the fun of this hobby. There's a good video showing how to rebuild them using Traxxas pistons and lower shock eyes.

I also remember the awesomeness that was the rc10's shocks. Trying to decide on aftermarket set now for my scx10. Sad the rest of the kit is pretty solid out of the box but the shocks seems to be a problem for a lot of guys. I used green slime and everything, hold oil great on the shelf but driving it makes a mess (oil + sand = bad)

| Re: Tired of leaking shocks X2! Those kyosho shocks are nice no doubt, but the cost is outrageous! Since ya have the scx shocks already just go with rc bros bodies with traxxas rebuild kit & your leak free, add machined(axial) pistons for butter smooth feel... |

Get Pro-Line scalers. Rebuild them using green slime before you fill them. Don't over fill which is actually sort of easy to do. If you do those things you won't have leaks. |

Like Green Slime heavier weight oils will hold better. Thinner/lighter oils can squeeze past seals. Especially if there is any kind of imperfection in the seal or seal surface.
