I wanted some waterproof foams for the Dirt Grabbers. A quick email over to Crawler Innovations and Eddie recommended the 3.95" - 4.00" Deuces Wild foams. I was worried they may be a bit too tall, but the height is spot on. They're just a touch wide, but they mounted up fine. I think they'll work out. I love the Deuces Wild foams for trailing on my other trucks. Happy to add them here. Axial SCX-10 Ford Courier Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr |

I've been working hard on this guy trying to get it ready for delivery in the next few days. The plan is to give this to my dad over the long weekend. There may be a few things I'll have to do at a later date, but I think it's time to pass along the Ford to its new owner. Oh, here it is painted up... That is a great looking Ford courier. Just need a tool box or cooler with the back of it cut out to cover the hole in the seat, but even if you don't it's still a great looking truck |

My wife designed these old school NY license plates for me. I printed them out on adhesive vinyl, sealed them with clear acrylic spray and mounted them on some scrap silver painted lexan. After they were trimmed out, I hit the edges with a silver paint marker and applied a coat of clear gloss. Then I mounted them to the body and rear bumper with Shoe Goo. Let there be light! Axial SCX-10 Ford Courier Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr Axial SCX-10 Ford Courier Build by johnny anguish, on Flickr I put together these reverse light housings from some spare parts. They're a touch big, but pretty similar to the actual lights on a Ford Courier. Time for some last minute inner fenders! I had started these a while back, but put them on hold as I scrambled to finish the rest. Last night I decided to see if I could finish them up. They're made out of $2 worth of Market Basket imitation Cool Whip containers and some flat black paint. They'll do for now. So... Here's Sam, the Ford Courier, all "finished" and delivered to my father yesterday as a Labor Day gift (for the past few years he has insisted on no birthday or Christmas gifts... he never mentioned Labor Day). I had a ton of fun building this truck. I miss it already. My dad was pretty surprised, despite my kids doing their best to spill the beans! I don't know if I was happier that he appreciated the sentimentality of the whole thing or that he couldn't wait to get out and give it a test drive. I didn't get much of a chance to take many pictures of the completed truck. There a a few of them here. The Ford will never be as shiny and clean as it is right now, but that's kind of the point, right? I look forward to hanging out with my dad and kids and putting the truck through its paces. There are still a bunch of things that could be done to improve performance. It definitely needs some softer springs. The drag brake on the Hobby King ESC is VERY aggressive. A battery relocation may be in the cards, but we'll have to work around the interior and the inner wheel wells. All of these things can be changed over time. For now it's ready to hit the trails and have some fun.
