Default scx10 deadbolt front diff squeak??

I have a fairly new scx10 deadbolt with the stock motor. I hear squeak from the front suspension. Is that normal? I disconnected the front center driveshaft and I see that the wheels dont roll as smoothly as the rears do. There is probably some binding inside the diff case. Anyone experienced it before and any suggestions on the fix?

I did order Axial CVD's so that I can get better steering angle. Not sure if that will fix any of this.

UPDATE (Found the problem):
I opened up my front axle and what is see is that the ring gear (large) is sat firmly between the bearings. But its the pinion gear that has play in it. So when the center drive shaft accelerates or decelerates, the play makes the pinion gear move back and forth on the ring gear causing it to lock up against the diff surface. I held the pinion gear out as much as possible and then rolled the wheels and the Vola.... no more resistance. I need to find some good 6mm washers and put them between the center drive shaft and the pinion gear to make sure the pinion gear is not pushed deep. Although I wonder why the rear diff is not seeing this issue.

Sorry, I'm unclear. Is the squeak/issue with the shocks/suspension when you move it up and down, or with the driveline when the wheels roll/turn?

I have the same problem with my deadbolt, the front axle doesn't roll smooth like the back one. I'm going to pull it apart and check it out, if no one posts up an answer for it.

Check the bearings.

The squeak is during a roll and not while the shocks move up or down.

When I disconnected the center drive shaft and roll the wheels, I can see that there is some resistance from the diff's. When I roll them a little fast, I hear the squeak.

Yeah. I am planning to roll one wheel at a time (by taking out one axle shaft) and see if one of the wheel bearing is the problem. Since I am going to upgrade to CVD anyways, I might just open up the diff case.

I've never met an SCX10 that didn't squeak after just a few runs.

Your driveshafts might also be the culprit.

you mean the center driveshaft (from the center differential to the axle itself) or the Axle shaft (from the wheel to the center diff)? The former one is pretty smooth in my case. thats why I disconnect the center driveshaft and rolled it.

See the circled, mating parts. When those get dry they squeak. You can use grease or whatever you prefer.

I use black grease during assembly. When that's gone I use silicone grease until I rebuild them at which time I use black grease again.

Does anyone know if there are dust covers available for the center drive shaft joints? That can help us keep the grease in-place.

Lube up your drivelines and components. NAPA silo glide works good

When I first got mine it squeaked a lot. I sprayed a little WD40 and it stopped completely. I know the WD40 won't last, I'll try a little grease if it starts again but I know it's the driveshaft joints now.

I will grease the drive shafts. But I also found you can install dust boots on the drive shafts. rcMart tech series: DIY dust boots for crawler center driveshafts – rcMart Blog

These are from traxxas e revo drive shaft boots. Just ordered 2 pairs from tower.

Have you tried molybdenum lube it lasts longer than some of the other stuff I've tried. Or dry silicone spray so you don't attract dirt sand etc

If you're talking about the connection between the dog bone and this part: then it's called the output shaft or drive cup. The driveshafts, on the other hand, connect the tranny to the diff. Just trying to keep things clear. ;)
